Usually Home Fry's don't request this song till your familiar with all of the members and what they can do. Tim the one that starts is the regular Bass guy which this song proves he has a 5 octave range and Chance the low singer in the song is usually baritone but goes Bass when needed.
Oh, I'm so sorry a requester stole your joy by requesting this song too soon. Imagine a regular band where they have a song where the bass guitarist goes and plays drums, and the drummer plays piano, and the pianist plays guitar, and the guitarist plays bass. Now if you were to watch this song not knowing the group, it would be an enjoyable song, but you've missed the joy of the surprise that they've all switched instruments. This is what Mayday is for Home Free. It's a really good song without the surprise, but the joy comes largely from appreciating how they've switched up the parts. Because you were new to the group, that surprise was stolen from you, and I'm sorry. It won't be the same, but I hope one day when you've got a better idea of their usual parts that you can revisit this just for yourself and maybe experience some of that joy.
I know you're new to Home Free, but most Home Fries would have suggested you wait to react to this video until you knew the names and particular roles of each member and here's why. Tim Foust (began the song) is the bass (he currently has a 5 octave range & working on 6) Chance is their baritone and covers bass when Tim is singing lead. Most people aren't expecting Tim to sing at a higher range (check out "My Maria" with Austin Brown and Tim Foust. You'll be pleasantly surprised). I've watched all of your Home Free reactions and have enjoyed them. Keep it up!! Thanks.
i actully just took some advice from one of our subscribers to listen to this one and i loved it as well. I will however listen to more of them and other as well. =)
This song is one of my favorites. This is one of songs we usually ask reactors to wait to do till they are familiar with all the guys voices. The surprise in this song is the switch ups in the voices. You just heard how deep Tim can go in "Brothers In Arms". But in this one, Tim really shows his range in that he can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance shows he can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.

Long time Home Fries can be a little bit stuck in our preferences. Myself included. Really enjoy seeing new reactions to the Home Free discovery and I don't care what order you go through the songs, you're still going to see/hear the WOW.

The red plaid shirt drum solo is from 2015. Please watch a newer drum solo than that. It is impressive, but he's orders of magnitude better than that video now. Adam is continually working on and improving himself, and it's so sad that so many people think an old video is representative of his current level of ability.
@@lrfcowper some of the more recent videos are bad quality. One highlights intrusive strobe lights and you never really get a good look at Adam. I would start with the 2915 video and then watch his progression.
@@dianefreeman7194 It's very rare for a reactor to watch more than one drum solo. I can count on one hand those who have, and I can't blame them with a catalogue as huge as HF has. I'd rather they watch a good quality more recent one that shows off his current level of art than an old one. And, heck, if you're going to recommend an old one at least find one where he does Billie Jean. His newer solo from the most recent tour is an absolute jam and he is absolutely having a blast doing it, and I hate that reactors are missing it in favor of something so unrepresentative of his level of talent.
You were robbed. Reacting to "Mayday" before you know their voices and "normal" parts deprived you of the delightful surprise we all experienced when we first heard this. Tim Foust has one of the deepest voices on the planet...but here he is a tenor! Chance normally draws baritone duties, but here he drops a subharmonic into the basement. HF is full of delicious surprises...and that's what great entertainers do!
Great reaction; don't sweat that you didn't have an opportunity to be surprised like the rest of the Home Fries - you appreciate what they can do and that is what's important. Suggestions for future reactions - all Home Free, of course, yes I am very biased. Aww you may have watched this a bit too soon. This is fun because of the switch. The long haired man who started the song is Tim Foust who is the bass! He has a 5 octave range and was showing off his tenor range in this song. The baritone, Chance, did the bass in this song. Tim (cut his hair recently during Covid) was singing the bass in Brothers in Arms. So he can go super low and super high. Love this song. They can all sing and do this well. Good reaction Lyfe.
I have both types, my ear buds actual have better sound and bass than my headphones (they're nice bass headphones too) it all matters on what kind of earbuds you buy.
The original is done by a woman, Cam. You might choose to look at her version. This song, done by men, is actually in the same key as hers. Home Free does a great job of keeping the song close to the original, but making it their own.
