This woman knows what she's talking about~~I've always said that Amber has mental issues and they will come out in time~~I'm not just saying this because I love and adore Johnny, but I'm in the mental health field and have been for about 40 years now and I've heard and seen it all~~Amber needs mental help NOW before something really bad happens and it will~~She can be sweetie as well as she can be evil~~Mental health professionals know what I'm saying~~I just hope she gets help soon before it's to late~~Deep down she's probably a nice person~~But something happened to this woman for her to turn out like she has~~Her actions will not go away overnight~~Fact~~

@Wynn Wynn I mean, she was tested extensively by people who are not armchair psychologists, and diagnosed with two personality disorders, neither or which was narcissistic personality disorder. Additionally, the diagnoses were then broken down and explained by the diagnosing psychiatrist. She testified for a few hours, you are able to review exactly how she arrived at the dual diagnosis. AH maybe a selfish twat, but she is not a clinical narcissist, according to actual professionals with expert level knowledge, education, certifications, and experience. And muffins, ELAINE.

I was married to a woman with BPD, and I can totally relate to Johnny's situation. The "love bombing" phase of the relationship makes you feel like this person is too good to be true, and in fact they are. They pretend to have all the same interests and beliefs that you do, but in the devaluation phase you find out that isn't true. They may not have any true beliefs of their own, so they simply adopt the beliefs of the person they are with for a time. Then they switch when it is time for the devaluation phase of the relationship. Then they engage in verbal and emotional abuse. In my case my ex would resort to threats of suicide and self harm. She literally beat her head against the wall. When I put my hands around her head, so she couldn't hurt herself, she grabbed a dollar store steak knife and attempted to stab herself. I laid on the floor of the kitchen with the knife blade in my hand, restraining her from stabbing herself, for several hours until she finally gave up and went to bed. That was just one borderline fit. Others included yelling, screaming, insults, extreme intoxication, suicide and possible murder/suicide attempts. Meanwhile she bankrupted us with her crazy spending. The relationship finally ended when she found a new victim, called the police, accused me of abuse, and filed a TPO. We ended up with a Stipulated Non-contact Order, thank God. I can relate to the wanting to numb yourself with alcohol. I didn't want to be in the same room with her without a good beer buzz going on, because it would keep me from being hypervigilant and responding to the attacks. I feared going home, but I feared not going home more, because I knew that nights attack would be worse if I wasn't home on time. Being in one of those relationships is hell, especially if you don't see a way out. In retrospect, I should have left and filed for divorce within months of getting married. I didn't know what BPD was until after the relationship ended.

I'm crying 😭 are you okay? I mean I know that seems like probably ridiculous and superficial question but I mean it. Reading all that was like reading a real life nightmare. I'm so sorry you went through that and I empathize. The suicide threats might be some of the worst because inevitably a decent and empathetic person would blame themselves for a while if not forever...and it's awful. But then I quickly learned he was way too selfish and self centered to actually harm himself...that it was just me he was trying to hurt. Its just awful. All of it. Stories like these hurt me on a different level and i...I just truly hope you're okay and found happiness ❤

Dr curry's analysis and testimony of amber was so spot on it's insane. Watching dr curry describe how flowery ppl like amber with histronic/borderline will talk, how when they try to cry it will feel very shallow to people hearing it, externalization of blame, tendency to be self righteous and deny being it, and then judge other people heavily, and so much more. Dr Curry was a real gem in the trial. Thank goodness the jury were paying attention to her information. The Dr Dawn Hughs expert witness in comparison was so difficult to listen to, I don't know why. She just seemed to drone on and on, it felt neverending and it came off as skewed. Always He's the aggressor and She's always the victim where as Dr Curry didn't apply a hard and fast rule like that. Dr Hughs needs to stop the style of her expert court attendances sounding like she is chewing through the trunk of a huge tree trunk with her own teeth while she presents her diagnostic evidence to the court, and she's not going to stop the mouth action until she's chomped her whole way through the damn trunk. Sorry Dr Hughs but this was how you sounded and how hard it was to listen.

The borderline will not relinquish their ‘victim’ identity. Acknowledging wrong doing gives power to the other person and this is why the borderline will never admit they’re wrong. They double down. They are skilled at blame-shifting and transfer their toxic shame onto their chosen target. The reason Amber was unwilling to let Johnny go was because he was such a rich source of narcissistic supply. The burden of her toxic shame overwhelmed her, this is why she wouldn’t let Johnny leave. She could only get her ‘release’ once Johnny took on her burden. She wouldn’t let him leave because she needed her fix in the form of narcissistic supply, nothing to do with abandonment. It’s cruel and selfish but the borderline is unbothered with the devastation they cause as long as it means they get their fix.

I have BPD and trust me, I am blaming only myself(when I learned that I had it, around the time I was 19 I read a lot and tried to find why do I have BPD, because my childhood was amazing-I asked my parents so many times if anything bad actually happened…). I hate myself(inside&out) and I blame myseld for things that aren’t sometimes even my fault. Each time I have an “episode” and overreact, I realize what the f… I’ve done and go and apologize. Obviously saying sorry isn’t enough, I have a therapist. Many times I went through CBT(DBT is kinda non existing in where I live) and it helped me so much. I am trying to be a better person, because I don’t want to be mean to people around me. I am trying to tell everyone that they should look for a better person, that I am complicated and don’t want to ruin anyone’s life. There’s been a huge progress, yet I am still not even close to be “normal”. I have GAD&ED(and had more problems during my life, they aren’t really helping me with getting better(plus my dad died in 2020, so I felt like everything I’ve done -to be a better person- is gone). Self harming is sometimes still a problem. And yes, like 10 years ago I was a total brat. But I (thank God) had a great support system. I was not the best girlfriend. But I was not verbally&physically abusive. Don’t get me wrong, I was super jealous and blamed my partners, had many arguments(most of them were because of me). But I know many people with BPD and all of them are abusive to themselves, not their parter/family/friends. Are there violent people with BPD.? For sure. But it’s not because they have BPD but because BPD almost always co-occurs with another mental illness/disorder.

The way Johnny mentioned how "he just wanted to make it work", really hits home. I used to be in a really toxic relationship in my early 20's. Nothing physical, but we were both terrible for one another, constantly arguing and being at odds with each other. Never having had a long relationship before, we both really wanted to make it work, to find a way. We'd look at photos of old people still holding hands and stuff, going "We're gonna be like them!". After 2 years of the same old story, same old fights, we finally broke up. What's funny is that after the breakup, I somehow missed the constant arguing. THAT's how long it had been going on. I'm so happy for Johnny finally having found a way out of that terrible situation.

I feel that She would talk through gritted teeth at me if she was angry Never even shouted at me I cheated on her and we stayed together for 3 months after I was drinking a lot and couldn't see how dysfunctional I was But after the relationship ended just started connecting some dots and remembering things that were very toxic on her part Whenever I talk about it with people I always say "She's got 2 maybe 3 VERY good reasons to absolutely hate my guts and I've got a few reasons of my own to say that this was a two way street" I still miss her in a way, but there was toxic shit before I cheated on her (not excusing, just my way of remembering the timeline) Like glaring at me with contempt when I comforted her friend who's boyfriend had just committed suicide, I put my right hand on her left shoulder and said "he's at peace now, he loved you he's not in pain anymore" and my girlfriend at the time looked at me with contempt and anger and then she walked away shaking her head, this absolutely fried my brain, absolutely did not compute 😂 I've heard recently that she said that she and I weren't exclusive when we were together, which is funny because she told me to think of her as her wife Sorry for the long ass comment But she threatened me with suicide a few times too, she sent me a text threatening suicide (this was a couple of weeks after she broke up with me) and then she left to go to work, so I drove over to her house to see her and talk to her, but her housemate had told me she had gone to work, so the housemate and I had a cigarette and I told her I was worried about my ex and worried she was gonna hurt herself And then later, my ex accused me of trying to fuck her housemate Worst period of my life so far

Those who never experienced what it is like being trapped in an abusive relationship will never understand. Simplistic people will always go "Oh why did you not just get up and leave then". It is not that simple. You can not easily escape when the actual prison is inside your head. I once had a toxic ex-GF who was emotionally and psychologically abusive. She played my anxiety and other weaknesses like a harp. See the thing about abusers is that they never really start out to be the monsters that you will see them transform into. They will initially appear to be the sweetest human beings who will comfort you. And then when you trust them with all your fears and insecurity that is when they start using that against you. That is what Johnny went through. I know because I went through the same thing. I got emotionally blackmailed all the time, gaslighted, and she would threaten me of self-harm and other shit. Something like this causes so much stress in your brain you would really relent just to end the torture. In effect I started self-loathing. I hated myself for not being able to walk away and always folding to her. I even ruined relationships in my family that I am still trying to fix. My biggest mistake was not being able to talk about it because people tend to dismiss abuse stories when it is a man at the receiving end.

I'm not surprised even abused women and men , did not side with Amber after seeing her actions in court , she described every thing they went through while working with them and made it her own , she faked her crying , and stood there looking at everyone with contempt even making jokes with her attorney .she was so rude to Camille , and would not face her when answering her questions .just talking to the juries ,even saying yes I'll do it again if he touches my sister which she's got no feeling towards . Poor Johnny is a slow talker and she kept running her mouth like a windmill with a determent attitude . No wonder she lost . Johnny is safe from her clutches and she can't stand not being in charge of him anymore . Sorry to all those who were abused in their lives , and hope they escaped their bad treatment and sorted their lives for the better .

Wow this is almost word for word what my marriage was like. I remember showing my then wife videos of how people with borderline personality disorder felt like - she said that's exactly what she feels...., the feeling that you are going mad was constantly presented.., so where the physical and verbal attacks... Thank you for this video - watching this brought a great sense of vindication and peace. Love your channel. You are helping people more than you know. 🙏

Well done ! Excellent piece of work. This case has brought home so much important information people (myself included) need to understand. Personally Disorders cause so much prolonged pain and suffering, the recipient of such tactics does think they are the one going mad. Depp hi-lighted the fact so clearly of how we can end up in a relationship that mirrors those problems we have already experienced through a parent. It needs to be said BECAUSE THAT WAS OUR VERY FIRST EXPERIENCE OF WHAT LOVE AND BONDING FELT LIKE AND SO SOME PART OF US STILL BELIEVES THIS IS WHAT LOVE HAS TO BE. When of course it doesn't. This isn't love it's an ordeal. My biggest hope about this case is two fold: • Awareness men can be DV victims. • People noticing how much worse this would have been had they produced children, so the idea filters into their own lives to only make children in a safe loving relationship. Thank you Baggage Claim, please keep making these awesome videos 🌻

Your analysis is spot on. Give Johnny credit for hanging on as long as he did and really trying to make it work but it was unsustainable because she was too violent and incapable of budging an inch. It has to be 100% her way or the highway. Anything that isn't exactly according to her expectations she will blow up and attack him. It's really unfortunate as don't think anyone can put up with her.

At 10:14. Dr Curry nails it. She assumed Johnny's life. His money and fame is what she wanted from him. When he lost his 650 million dollars it was too much for her. Everything about her was about her loosing his money. She couldn't live with out it and why she wouldn't leave him. It's always been about fame and money.

I find it so sad that she can't see that alot of his misfortune started when she supplanted into his life. Excessive spending, increasing use of drugs, the decrease in ability to make decisions due to clouding from problems with her, with drugs, with his mother...all leading to the loss of 650 mill because his business manager took advantage. Then because she sees that the money is no longer a bottomless pit and because he won't tolerate the abuse any longer, she decides to lash out. It's infuriating that she can't see the connection of her abuse and his downward spiral.

As the trial was taking place, I, as many people were, was listening to the videos online that weren’t allowed into the trial. AH’s behaviors, her voice and tactics on the audios that *were* played in the trial TOTALLY revealed AH as displaying and using *ALL* of the tactics of a person with the disorders that Dr Curry diagnosed AH with; which are *ALL* of the behaviors and actions that narcissists have and use on their victims! The trial was *SO* informative about people who are narcissists and have the cluster B personality disorders. The world has had a great lesson about narcissistic people and was a *HUGE* cautionary tale about the red flags for people to watch out for in those *sick* people and to run like hell away from them ASAP!

Sigh... This reminded me such more of me and my father when it came to my mother. No matter what we did, we were always wrong. In her eyes, everyone was wrong, but her. She'd manipulate and exploit others without a sign of remorse, under the guise of kindness and innocence. My father wasn't allowed to see me due to reasons she'd make up on the fly (smoking cigarettes, eating beef, visiting the bar to get things off of his chest, whatever she felt was wrong), and when he could visit, he had to sleep on a mattress on the floor. He was a hardworking man yet was always broke, despite being a Master Sergeant at the time, because she'd empty his bank account at the beginning of each month. Always saying "you're a bad father and not there for your child", yet punish him by not letting him see his child (I don't get her). Unfortunately, if it wouldn't have been for me, he wouldn't have stayed for as long as he did, and I feel that she only birthed me to use as leverage to keep him there and force him to give her everything he got, for I later found out that I was never meant to happen. Once he left her and the country, she took everything out on me instead. My dad couldn't even visit me, fearing that he'd get arrested, because not long after leaving he'd receive letters from foreign banks to which she signed up to by forging his name on contracts and whatnot and drew out 5-digit amounts to waste on "alternative medicine" (herbal medicine, candles, Feng Shui, sugar tablets, that sorta stuff; an obsession that led to her losing her house to the bank and made her incapable to have credit in 2 countries, yet never was imprisoned for fraud, black marketing, abuse, neglect, and so many other crimes). The woman was untouchable, she even black-marketed fishing gear (by exploiting U.S. military "tax-free" mailing system) to freaking cops. I rather not speak of the things she did to me, but I will say that the hopes of moving to my father, whose language I couldn't speak at the time, encouraged me to keep on living, learning, and submitting to her, for as long as it was necessary, while counting down the days till I'd finish school, then high-school. I feel bad for Johnny Depp, because I know where he's coming from, and so does my father. Let me just say that no matter what you do, and what you sacrifice, some people will simply refuse or are incapable to change or admit to their guilt. Even when I was outside of the country, and a young man working as an electrician, did she call me (and write e-mails) almost daily to belittle me and drive guilt into my heart. "You're a failure, who will live under a bridge!" She simply had to be in charge, and when I much later confronted her of things like "Why did you think it's okay for a girl to hit a boy, but wrong for the boy to defend himself?" she simply shrugged. If you're reading this, and suffered similarly, I just want you to know that I feel deeply for how you had suffered, but also of how proud I am that you have made it through, or are fighting to stay alive, and that I'm sure that this horrendous experience has left you to be humble, caring, selfless, and likely one of the sweetest individuals in your community, but also heartbroken and in desperate need of a hug (until I saw my dad again, I didn't even know what a hug was). However, I know too that, much like Johnny Depp, you may gravitate towards the very thing that you fear, or be targeted by those who enjoy doing these things to others (or feel the need to). Despite wanting so desperately to have a child, I am living with a male roommate for companionship, simply because of how much I fear to feel trapped again by such a female, and to have a person who will listen to me and help me learn how to speak up about these things. My grandma did do a great job to help me see that not all women are evil (sorry, but my mom and sister, who was her princess, made me think that women were demonic) and that some are incredible kind (unfortunately I didn't get to be around my grandma till adulthood, and then she passed away). It took me years to speak up about these things, and while this comment may have a small chance to be read, I do hope that at least 1 person will read this and find comfort in knowing that they're not alone, and perhaps feel positive or inspired after reading through all of this. I'm not sure if this may help, but for me, I played video games (Nintendo, for violence was forbidden in our household) and always kept my mind occupied (still do) with anything that I could focus on. Due to my father's language barrier, I chose to play the games and watch movies in his language, so I could learn it better, as well as get myself a dictionary to assist in my studies. I never started drinking or smoking, mostly for how little my mother tolerated in her household (a lot didn't make sense, like she believed that "eating pork turns you into a cannibal"), so the next best thing was visual stimuli. Fortunately, we now have things like RU-vid, so if you feel down, why not learn something new to occupy those thoughts? I hope this comment may help someone... At the very least, it did help me in trying to speak up, in the hopes that I may help someone who was or is in a similar situation. Okay, enough typing, time to send this off. Sorry for how long it got... I tried to keep it brief.

M.E.R255 I hear you. Your post may have ended up longer than you thought or wanted it to be, but you needed to get it off your chest/ out of your head space. I believe that you are now on the pathway to free yourself from your past. I can relate to what you have posted, but for me, it was my father who was the abuser. Also, I felt inferior to my brothers as I was a girl. I was always being compared to them and being denied things, on the grounds that only boys did this or that. Sometimes, I felt if only I had been a boy things would have been different. Like you, my parents never showed us any signs of love, nor did they tell us they loved us. I hope things improve for you and in time you will find that special someone to share the rest of your life with. Sending you a hug and ❤ from the UK. Keep smiling!

@@ginahaydon8240 Thank you so much for your response, for not faulting me for the the length of my comment, for your very kind words, and for also entrusting me with details of your unfortunate past; though I must apologize for the delay of my response. I was rather fortunate that I had at least 1 parent caring about me, even if he was living in another country few years into my childhood. I'm sorry that you've had it so bad in the past as well. Other than that the genders are reversed in both ourselves and those who mistreated us, I find we have very much in common. It must be difficult to respond to a male, when it was that very gender that mistreated you. I know it took me many years to feel comfortable around women, but it's admittedly been difficult to befriend them. Not that I don't want to, I'd love learning of different perspectives in life, but it's admittedly difficult for a male to befriend a female, when most guys I've met seem to only do so for more than just companionship... I suppose I don't really know how to convey that I "just want to talk" and not aim for anything but to ease my anxieties around females. I think that, at the very least, trying to leave some messages like this one is a good step. Oh dear, here I go, rambling again. I unfortunately have a problem with keeping things short, fearing that I would leave out details and cause misunderstandings. As I was saying, I very much relate to what you've said. I admittedly wanted to be a girl when I was a boy, thinking I'd receive better treatment from that, so what you said very much resonated within me. Oh, you live in the UK? I'm currently residing in Canada, living with my best friend. I've heard that UK and Canada share many similarities, at least in writing, though they seem to pronounce words more like Americans (at least where I'm currently residing at). Ah, UK has such nice grammar and spelling, much better than what I witnessed when I last visited the USA. Sorry, I'm talking about unrelated things again... Perhaps I tried to mention more positive things to cheer both of us up. Anyways, it may be time for me to stop writing and to submit all of this. Again, thank you so much for your wonderful response, I'm very grateful for all that you've said and for the trust you've given me, I too hope that everything will go well in your life, and I'm sending you hugs and ♥from Canada as well! You can even see it with the way she dealt with the Australia stuff. Everyone had started to move on, and you'd think she'd want to let it go and hope it ended up being brushed under the carpet rather than risk further charges or a permanent ban from a country she might need to film in for Aquaman. Instead it almost seemed like ages after the whole Pistol and Boo thing, out of the blue she's like "hang on, don't you dare forget me random minister from Australia who annoyed me that time. I'm going to deliberately provoke you again by naming my dog after you and then posting it all over insta. That'll show you!" I think she thought she was being witty and getting her own back, but most people in Aus just saw it as a sad cry for attention including the minister she was trying to provoke. It did nothing for her reputation over here at all. More people seemed to be laughing at her attempts to be insulting (rather than with her as she probably expected), and alernatively no one really got angry or upset by her "insult" (mostly just bemused or generally annoyed at her attitude.) It's almost like any attention is better than none, regardless of how negatively the potential is to affect her in the long run. She can't let anything go or accept that she did the wrong thing, even if it would be the best course of action she could take under the circumstances if she thought about it rationally. If the charges do get bought up again (which is possible, I think there's a few people in parliment that have been waiting on the other trial to finish and wondering if it's worth the trouble pushing this case through or not), it'll likely be labeled "unfair"by her, rather than "consequences of actions taken."

damn. I've heard some things about how parental influence may carry over to the types of people one finds themselves in relationships with. I did not know any of this about Johnny Depp's mother or her death being potentially the last straw for him. Your explanations about Amber's quick rage and piling criticisms slightly reminded me of my own mother, and Johnny Depp's escapist coping mechanisms of myself. What especially struck me was at 17:33 about Johnny Depp hiding in seven different rooms while Amber kept chasing, banging and piling on her criticisms. I have countless memories of me hiding in my bathroom (only room I had that locked) while my mother would randomly switch between brooding to my dad and barging into my bedroom and banging and kicking at my bathroom door taunting me with an unnervingly calm voice. When my dad wasn't home this would go on for what felt like HOURS, and I was amazed that the door didn't budge. But if he was home, oh boy would I be in trouble. She would call him to unlock (god knows how he has a key), and then it was futile trying to use my weight on the door against two overweight adults. I don't remember why I once covered my head with a sweater once, but she was swinging to confiscate my phone and not seeing where my face was she swung at my nose and I got a nosebleed. Probably wouldn't have happened if I just gave her my phone lol. It used to be over big mistakes, but over the years anything minor would trigger her and one criticism became a dozen in half an hour. She would rarely resort to some swings at me but it would happen and I would just cower while saying "STOP!". We had our fair share of verbal fits but I always chickened out and froze in place, cowering if she started hitting me.

Johnny is a gentle and sensitive soul. It's incredibly difficult for the wealthy and famous people to find genuine love, which is probably why they gravitate towards others with their own wealth and/or fame, because they believe they can trust that the love is real. He'd do well with an emotionally healthy average woman that actually loves him, and is willing to sign a prenup forfeiting any claim to his wealth.

You are a breath of fresh air. Because of your voice, I am assuming that you are a young woman, in your 20s. I am 76, and finally I hear a young woman that has my opinions on today's woman. I am not a feminist and would never vote for the Equal Rights Amendment. I have lived through what this supposed equality with men is supposed to have gained by women. I worked in the legal field for many years, and what I saw in female attorneys was their trying so hard to be like men that they completely gave up their femininity. Women becoming men like loses the whole point for me. I find that working with mostly women is much more difficult that working with mostly men. I do not appreciate cursing, and many of the female attorneys had the dirtiest mouths not only with cursing, but with telling off color jokes.
@gokuxsephiroth4505

Sorry to tell you, bro, but this IS about equality; if women are strong, powerful creatures that can do anything, we should treat them as such, and that includes recognising them as potential abusers. I'm so sorry that female attorneys "lose their femininity" when they enter an aggressive field of work. It might "lose the point" of women for you, but women are not just there to smile gormlessly and look pretty for old fuckfaces like you anymore.

If you think feminism simply allowed women to start cursing then you’ve completely lost sight of what it has achieved. It is because of women that fought for our rights that we have the ability to own a home, work for a living, support ourselves financially, own a credit card, choose what to do with OUR bodies without completely and utterly relying on a man for food, clothing and shelter. A man who could easily abandon or abuse leaving a woman with no option but to suffer the abuse or become destitute.

I forgot about Dr. Curry's testimony because so much was happening during the trial and aftermath. I feel _extremely_ sorry for Johnny for everything he went through and for not believing him at first. 😢 I even feel a bit sorry for Amber because she needs a lot of help and her supporters are just enabling her. They care more about what she represents than her as a individual and they either don't know it or don't care at all. But that's where my sympathy ends because she put Kate James and (allegedly) Whitney through a nightmare too.
