The yellow chips are made with Agria potatoes, they are not cheap but worth the extra. If the fish and chips are wrapped together the heat from the chips will steam the fish and make the he batter soggy. Many thanks to Greggo andhis relentless searching for the best on our behalf.
Agreed...thats right ...it is how you package it for customers and how long it been waiting ... I worked in a fish shop where i prepared all seafood ready to batter as i go with each oreder . South coast i worked directly from the nsw winner of best fish and chips pelican rocks . When i left that job i was asked finally to work pelican rocks ...i had to move i was kicking myself ...lol I love fish and chips proper way out of a box at shops ,you can always tell it is.
The yellow chips are always a welcome sight. You just know they are going to taste really good. I didn't know their name so thanks for that. I've now read that they were developed in Germany in the 1980's. Other chips might look good but never taste as good as they look.
@@blueyonder1233 i love food history a insightful back story to what we use ....😀 yum by that i can clearly see you know your ingredients and how to use them with what works .your business is amazing. Never lose your shine ,passionate people with humble atitudes are hard to come by .well done 😀♥️👍
Finally..a Fish & Chip joint that seperates the Chips from the Fish. I hate when you get half greasy chips when the Fish has been sitting on top of them....👍👍 2 Gregos Up
Thats stupid, the seasoning is either salt or chicken salt, neither contain gluten. Neither does any oil to fry. Thanks to "Nick Martin" below though for clarifying some bought chips have a coating that might contain flour.
The Oak Milk bar at Pete's Ridge in NSW had the best tasting fish and chips i have tried (don't know what oil they used). Still, this fish and chips looked pretty good.
Used to be my nan's favourite place to eat. Thankfully my family and my nan all had a great lunch together at Costas before she passed away a week later. 😢
Kiwi here if you ever try F n C on the Goldie, get it from the Hangi Pit,not sure what suburb, cross the ditch for holiday's during our winter, Just Fantastic That looks really nice as well, sitting here in NZ at 5,30 eating Curry chicken with rice, Great video, Cheers
1. That’s the nicest pice of fish I’ve ever seen 2. It was a relief for you to tell us what the best fish and chips has been so far. 😓 3. Merry Christmas 🎄
Nice one Greg'o. Great value and quality for this review. Lol hahaha 😂 chips would feed 2 and a Seagull. Maybe include a Seagull's Chip rating next FnC review at the seaside.. 👍😀
You what I love about Greggo. He does like 1 advert on the beginning of his videos and that's it. I would still watch even if he did more but you know.
From a scot the chips were a portion and the fish was a little poor Gregory you need to come to Scotland and get a real fish supper over all good value for money
In NSW we have chains of Costi's. I think there are 3 brothers and they all own different stores, not franchises, and they are all independent of each other. Weird: Costa and Costi...
You should give Clayfield Seafood Markets a go! They have a deal called Tradie's Lunch Box that's cod, chips, calamari ring, dim sim, and potato scallop for about $14.
Fresh and Wild Seafood at Hamilton / Portside in Brisbane is really nice. Have You tried that one yet? OUTSTANDING Prawn and avocado mayo salad And I JUST remembered: Clayfield Seafood Markets is THE BEST Seafood hands down that I've had in Australia. I can't recommend them enough to Anyone. Tremendous Asian Slaw. Double up on the garlic Aoili!
The fish and chips from Far North Queensland trumps absolutely any fish and chip shop from the south east but Costas would easily be the best in Brisbane
No ketchup?! Mushy peas? Baked beans? Vinegar? Even mayo? Pickled onion? Can Brits get all the Brit stuff with their fish and chips downunder in OZ and NZ?
oh hello greg here, well durrr it wouldnt be the queen of england now would it hahaha im joking bro. edit: you could feed a few people and couple of seagulls pmsl.
Greggo, love your vids, but for a self proclaimed expert on fish and chips , even you would know that all cod( hake) is a frozen fish product and only reef cod is available “fresh” .
It’s clearly not the best, so don’t underestimate the power of people voting for these awards! I think you liked the lard-cooked fish and chips in maybe Bundaberg? better too.
