I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The crescendo at "Overwhelmed as one would be placed in my position..." has got to be possibly the finest TOOL moment of their career. Its chill inducing every single time I hear and, and it's been thousands of times that I've taken this journey.

No one since FLOYD puts out an album like TOOL. Segues, Interludes, Backward Messages, Hidden Tracks, Album Art. It's so good. ✌️

Just catching up with and keeping up with all your Tool reactions, friend! Such a soul soothing journey. As chaotic and heavy as it may seem to any passers-by whilst it’s blaring out my car windows or condo, who may be thinking wtf……as I play the shit out of my air drums and guitar, I can only wish them the same joy we all get from Tool’s mastery of sonic perfection. P.S. the build up to the melodic crescendo portion of this is incredible. It’s just beautiful.

The tragic thing is that once Tool are done, we will be left with nothing truly amazing. There is/nor will be anyone like them.

I remember the first time I heard this song. I... I was confused... I haven't ever heard anything like it. It took me a while to understand but once I heard it many many many times and could follow along this is hands down my favorite Tool song of all time. This album is night and day from their last album Lateralus. And thats what I love about this band is they can switch it up and still keep their identity.

It's so fun watching you absorb all this TOOL music for the first time. My opinion is that starting with this as an intro to the band may be too much to appreciate but you already drank the TOOLaid and fun reaction to watch. Keep going, there's more and I dare you to find a song from them that isn't unique and great.

To fully appreciate this song it takes numerous listens. I remember my first listen there’s so much going on and the songs structure is complex, I remember thinking after listening I was like “WFT did I just listen to”. Its really is a masterpiece and the concept behind the lyrics is genius. One of my absolute favorite tracks to this day.

And I will say this, I know you don't like to read lyrics when you're reacting, but....when you react to wings for Marie and 10,000 days, you must do so with the lyrics and read up on the story behind them.

I would have rather heard "Sober" or "The Pot" when I saw them live, but after hearing this song live, I had a fervent affinity for this song and began listening to Tool in a whole new way. These guys dig into your soul in a way no band does.

Saw all the answers but I forgot my pen. This is the only DMT Opera ever made. It has an amazing storyline from the intro at the medical facility into the patient's response. Then the whole song goes from frenetic and disorientated through several stages of the trip wearing off and things become more controllable, ordered, and reality-based. My favorite poetic feature in the lyrics: "Sh*t the bed" is used in a couple intents, one is literal (DMT especially the Ayahuasca type can cause "a loosening") and the other is the idiom similar to "dropping the ball", failing a plan, when it's about being unable to record the answers -- so you can tell around when he gets some awareness of reality back at the literal one, close to when the music and lyrics become more cohesive.

On my way home from work just a bit ago, “Rosetta Stoned” came on the radio. I thought of you and knew you would love this. It is definitely one of the best thrill rides in Tool’s repertoire.

After you get through lyrics and realize how funny this song is on top of being an absolute banger, go check John Kew’s drum cover of it since it’s so difficult to find good footage of Danny. It shows how crazy Danny’s drum parts are in this one

Dr. Choppy, this one gave me chills all over again, watching your reaction was priceless. This song is on the surface a very chaotic roller coaster of brilliantly crafted musicianship, the lyrics are one of the funniest in the entire Tool catalog. Every time I listen to this song it's like I've never heard it before, it's so easy to forget every twist and turn but like any good roller coaster as soon as it's done you want to experience it all over again! Thank you for your Tool reactions! They've been soooo much fun for us. I don't often request songs...but if you could add 'Hooker with a Penis' to your future play list, it's a shorter song, power packed, more straight forward in its musical approach but also a very funny track about a guy who approached Maynard about selling out because their sound changed in their early years. This song launched Maynard's rant on society being so hypocritical...a common Tool theme. Thank you again! So much fun!
