I'm definitely on board with seeing reviews, or at least coverage, of watches like this. Yes, we want to know what's current and available, but it's also great to see what's out there pushing (or ignoring) the envelope.
The ethos of both Moser and MB&F is about collaboration, which when they actually collaborated created this horological magic! This is a great example of what van be achieved when companies share ideas and are not overly protective of their IP. Great job, other watch brands and companies not in the watch industry would be well served to take a leaf out of these two bold company’s book’s. Great video Teddy, I would love to see more content on what the independent watch brands are doing.
Agreed 100% - these brands have an open perspective on design and collaboration that differs much from the rest of the industry. Certainly can do more!
An absolutely mind blowing watch that is not only a mechanical work of art but it's also really quite beautiful. With the what is a generally accepted view of what a watch should be it's like the designer had this view purged from his brain. A very creative take on a wrist watch to say the least. Great studio photography brings out the best of this watch. While I could never afford or even obtain one of these I can really appreciate the design and engineering that has gone into it.
Love the mechanical creativity and artistic expression in timepieces like this. It definitely pushes horology to a new level and opens new directions for the next generation of watchmakers. Please highlight more of these incredible oddities. It almost begs the question of what a collaboration with anOrdain might look like?
Congrats on engagement! I agree - sometimes it is fun to look at watches for their unusual style and beauty, even if it not something I could buy or choose to wear. Keep it up! Teddy -- Another great RU-vid video. Your contribution to 'Watch Focused' content is just perfect. A lot of RU-vid watch content provider posts feel like paid product endorsements. You do a very-good job at balancing 'paying-the-bills' while at the same time providing compelling content, like todays video.
When I first saw the thumbnail I expected. Watchfinder & Co video. Big thumbs up for covering something a bit more unique. Let’s be honest, Affordable or not, Conventional or not, most of us don’t purchase 90% (if not 99%) of the watches that we research, so it’s great to have a broader perspective of just what’s happening in the world of watches. Very cool watch, videos like this sprinkled in once in a while are certainly entertaining. This is kind of like when fashion designers create ridiculously over the top clothing at a fashion show that will never make it to retail, they’re just expressing what they can dream up, for better or for worse. In the case of this watch it’s for the better
this takes the idea of the progression of time to the next level ..i like the spherical tourbillons ..but wow for price. This ones a bobby dazzler. I like the main spring ..it beats like a heart ..how nice.
Thank you for exposing me to watches such as this that I likely would never have seen or heard of. The design and engineering that went into this while fascinating led me to the same conclusion you mentioned 'too much time and money' to create this. Further explanation of the philosophy behind it helped me to appreciate it more. As always a well done and informative video. How cool!

Great video! I've had the opportunity to see MB&F watches in person, and I can say that they are definitely one-of-a-kind concept watches. This collaboration between MB&F and one of the greatest up and coming independent watchmakers, Moser, is truly a test pushing the frontiers of watchmaking!

I'd put a chrono on my other wrist so I could measure the number of seconds between putting it on and inadvertently smashing it into a door or my desk. Definitely interested in more content of this nature. You and your team do a fantastic job of giving any timepiece a showcase worthy of its pedigree.
This watch is so beautiful in the way that it is so obviously designed by an engineer and not a traditional watchmaker. It is elegant yet industrial and incredibly well thought out.
MB&F caught me with their videos & I’ve been in love with the brand since. Definitely something I would love to look at on a daily. Cheers! You’re on fire Teddy.
The used market on these is pretty hot at about 25% over retail and you can only find used ones ATM. Lovely watch and a mesmerizing complication in that Tourbillon. I'm not a fan of minimalist design watches, but this arrangement and the flawlessly smooth dial are gorgeous!
More like this please Teddy. And well done with how you presented it too. Like you, neither my watch nor price tag but bravo all round for the collaborators. In a world of phones in our pockets, few of us really need a watch, but of course we do, and a number of them :) What is wonderful about watches is stretched beautifully with pieces like this.
I feel like the dial is lacking a frame. Not sure if “frame” is the word for it, but I feel like there should be a gold or chrome ring around the edge of the dial. Just a thin one. There is just something lacking from it in my opinion. Other than that, it looks very nice!
Incredible watch. After watching lots of Producer Michaels videos where he buys and wears these insane watches from Jacob & Co, the Astronomia, I've been looking for your reviews of those crazy expensive brands and didn't find them. So it would be fun if you'd feature some "insane" watches on here too. Maybe have Kevin try em out :D
Great video as always! I aggree that trying out new things should be applauded even if you personally don’t like how it looks. On that note: have you considered making a video about Swatch? 😃 I kinda like some of their “out there” colorful dials & I appreciate they’re doing what they’re doing even when I don’t.
There was a watch a few years ago called the cyrus klepsys i think, had a vertical tourbillon that served as a wheel to display seconds in 5 second intervals. Same 19mm thickness.
This is a beautiful watch and absolutely they deserve big kudos for creating it. Not sure I would personally want to buy one even if I had $85K laying around, but the skill required to make something like this is simply amazing.
Teddy, again I like your insight. I've got an analogy. My first collections were knives. Then I started seeing "art knives". I am a person that wants to use what I've procured. I appreciate what it took and materials used to make them. I appreciate what went into making them. I'd never buy them but I understand what goes into it. My point being you can apply what it takes to produce an item without wanting it. Also I loved you using the Chris Reeves in the Arnie video. Thanks again for all the insight
Personally I think that the piece is beautiful. I like different, even my music is very different to the norm but I'm not the only one. It's a stunning piece which I can only dream of owning, making something outside of the 'idiosyncratic box' by legendary collaborators is something I hope will continue and be available to us at a reasonable price range. I think this is where art, mechanics, crossover from the norm to make an eye opening watch which would definitely be a talking point no matter who sees it.
Brilliant review, I love being able to see watches pushing the boundaries. Just because I may not ever own one of them, does not mean I don't enjoy looking at them. That is why there are art galleries!
Congratulations. More watches like these. It's so refreshing to see when someone invents a new way of displaying time or introduces some funny twist like the "Apple like" watch or in some cases invents new mechanism like Seryn watches and Karel rotation. Because it's not the list of complications in the watch but the look or design choice is the main complication of the watch. That's a reason why well executed binary watches are more interesting for me compared to expensive watches because they are simply different and majority of people can't read them :D
Can you do a video on Louis Vuitton watches? I have been looking into their high watching making: Flying Tourbillon, Spin Time, & Carpe Diem watches... Would love to hear your opinion!! Since there are not many videos out there on Louis Vuitton watches.

Beautiful watch. Looks like a wrist compass (yes, one piece reference). But, I can't help but imagine the horror of knocking that crystal dome to the edge of a counter.
New sub and new to watch collecting / Horology. Great review and amazing watches. I totally agree with your summery. Unobtainable for most but refreshing and exciting design and philosophy. I am also a traditional wet shaver/collector and love the artisanal skill and engineering involved. I suppose that is where these two interests cross over as I appreciate the beauty and craftmanship of the razors, brushes and ceramics. I will be collecting mainly in the sub £500 bracket but still enjoy all aspects and price ranges of watch collecting. Roy, Liverpool UK.
