Great video. I previously worked on drillships verifying software systems. Glad to hear you are still working!

I'm saving up for a 1600 - Diesel with full hydraulics, that's a dream of mine. Love these videos.

Thanks I appreciate it, 1600 is a good mill and the diesel will last forever. It's the 3cyl kabota, a bit higher RPM but plenty of power. If you check out my timberking 1400 diesel videos it's the same engine. I gave that mill to my dad and he loves it. He has been cutting around 600 board ft a week for the past month, just cutting in the afternoons.

I was thinking some damn hippie spiked that tree at some point 😂😂. Supposedly an actual thing tree huggers did/do to hurt loggers.

Awesome sir I hate to see when somebody runs into something in a log I've done it a few times myself can't wait to see what it was

I'll have to dig it out

I can't believe you didn't split those chunks of wood to see what the metal object was, that is why I dislike "cliffhangers", they leave you hanging.

Yeah, sorry about that. I actually burned the sections and found 2 metal stakes. I don't know why I didn't ever reveal that until now.

I wonder what the chances would be of using wedges and making the log split out the rest of the way?
@TCSawmills
@TCSawmills Год назад
You probably could, but that would be a lot of work. The chainsaw option was quick and easy.

Put wedge in opening. Seperate then pull blade out

That's what I do... when I can find my wedges 😆.

I would like to know what the metal was.

I plan to dig it out this week, I'll post it in an upcoming video.

you need wedges to slide the blade back.
@TCSawmills

It was so close I didn't want to take it all the way back. It was just easier to hand cut the last inch or so.

Mental people put spikes. Bolts. Lags etc into trees to mess with sawmills. Hope they hug the tree before pounding metal in it.

My dad just recently hit a porcelain insulator in a log, it trashed a blade that only had 2 cuts on it.
