I don't like extreme fuselage stretchings: the plane looses something in terms of safety and strenght. Better restart production of A380 and improve the development of zeroE aircrafts.
@edwardwilcox6606
@edwardwilcox6606 3 дня назад
It wouldn`t need to be extreme, regardless AB would make sure it was safe before any release. A380 is finished, only a very efficient engine in the 75,000lbs thrust area could bring it back & that sadly is way off.

Interestingly, no airline is really interested (yet) with the A350-2000. Reason: the A350-1000 is just the right plane for many airlines, especially regarding compatibility with current airport infrastructure.

@@FLIGAVIA Because it's essentially replacing the 777-300ER. Once Rolls-Royce can resolve the reliability issues with the Trent XWB-97 engine, I wouldn't be surprised that the likes of Emirates could place a 120-plane order to essentially replace their well-used 777-300ER fleet starting around 2030.

Wow ! I've been love to see AIRBUS A350-2000 xwb/ulr for the future. Even Garuda Indonesia will ordering/adding more AIRBUS plane over BOEING including AIRBUS A350-2000 xwb/ulr for the future, this could be over it's BOEING 777 for the International route and also Umroh/Hajj route for the future. That think it's very cool doesn't it 😉👍😉.

Exactly the approach Boeing used with the 737 and got into trouble
@matthewtorchiana6418
@matthewtorchiana6418 3 дня назад
It makes sense, in in the spirit of the A321XLR, Airbus ashould develope a A350-2000XLR. Using part of all of the extra 4 meters in the loweres for additional fuel storage they can add passerger capacity and range at the same time. With Rolls Royce making updates and improvements to the Trent-84 and -97, the added power may already built into the new package.

It is worth noting that as of Jul 2024 AIrbus has over 1300 orders for A350 variants - including 55 orders for the A350F - which was a market dominated by the Boeing 747. I agree that the current situation represents an opportunity for Airbus, However, there are number of factors that would need investigating. The aircraft extension you presented (more likely the 1100 or 1200 variant) would be relatively low risk but the - as yet unproven - engine upgrade would be medium / medium+ risk, just look at the P&W geared turbo fan, the GE90 issues and previous RR Trent issues. With 1300+ back orders for the A350, and a desire of AIrbus to grow the freighter market, I would think that the further extension of the A350 may be a lower priority than possibly looking at what comes after A320/A321 where they have Boeing on the ropes and have the breathing space to land a knock out blow. This approach would also allow some of the current Airbus production and supply chain constrictions to be ironed out and give AIrbus the ability to service their order backlog.
@FLIGAVIA
@FLIGAVIA 2 дня назад
I see your point. With over 1,300 orders, the A350 is definitely in a strong position, but I agree that the focus should shift to addressing the A320/A321 successor. It makes sense for Airbus to prioritize consolidating their position in the narrow-body market while addressing any production constraints, rather than pushing for another A350 variant right now.

It will weigh more, means stronger undercarriage and higher wing loading or a bigger wing. Stretches are not always simple plus might need a more powerful engines.

Airbus is still monitoring the ultra large widebody segment. The B777-9 is not yet eating up the A350-1000 orders. The A380 half failure is still haunting the management. The A350 is already profitable. The A380 never was and cost a lot. But the lessons learned from the A380 failure created the A350 success. So today the Airbus management has decided to keep the wait and see attitude....until the B777-9 shows a response with a potential ultra long A350.....

I see the market for the B777X being limited in numbers when compared to what many regular airlines will see the A350-1000 as the perfect aircraft for size, efficiency, & purchase price. B777X should do well for the customers that have ordered it for their flagship services offering more luxurious travel. I don`t see the neccessity for a stretch ( A350-1100 perhaps? ) particularly as it would be expensive due to a need for a more powerful engine. I know T-XWB-97 is due an unpgrade soon but isn`t it at it`s design limit for thrust already? As it stands A350-1000 seems to be the defacto replacement for the B777-300ER for size but with much improved efficiency & a purchase price that is far more attractive to most airlines. For example how many B777X`s would US airlines buy? A350-1000 has a growing order book & it`s sales should increase exponentially as B777-300ER`s & B777-200`s need replacing.
@FLIGAVIA

If the 777X is not certified it will lose market to the A350. That is for sure.

I couldn't get to the end of this video fast enough, as I was waiting for the big but, which never came. What our host fails to understand, is that the A350 is virtually sold out. There are rumours of both Emirates and Qatar ordering more, the A350F is expected to pick up many more orders also, and that would take deliveries into the 2030s. Why would Airbus spend time and money developing an aircraft which they cannot make this decade? They simply don't have production line capacity to build it. RR are already upgrading both XWBs, and probably Airbus and RR will tinker with the design to make further improvements, but no A350Neo or A350-2000 is going to be sold until the backlog of current orders is almost complete. So yes, Im sure Airbus are planning such an aircraft, but not before the jinxed B777X goes into service. The A350-1000 does compete with the B777X already, especially with more time on the wing iro of maintenance, as promised by RR, but those areas where the Boeing aircraft still has advantages, will be its main selling point. Its now up to Boeing to get it delivered. They're still saying 2025, the airlines say 2026, and now the thrust link problem is sending the Boeing boys back to the drawing board, certification flights are suspended and with the FAA hopefully breathing down Boeing's neck, who would now bet against 2027/8. Nobody knows. Even 2028 is still too early for any A350-2000 to go into production. The potential "killer" of the B777X is therefore not the A350-2000, (not in this decade), but Boeing's own inability to get their aircraft delivered..........

Perhaps the Asian market could justify the 2000. But the engines are the issue. GE would definitely not provide an engine as it would compete with the 777X and Boeing and GE arre now seemingly sleeping together. The cost of upgrading the Trent is an ongoing business but this all takes time and one hell of a lot of money. So, its not as simple as taking a knife and inserting a new bit. But perhaps. Airbus are looking into it.

Also I think anyone that would get on a Boeing exception of the 747 are crazy. When your own engineers wont get on a plane they build. That says enough. I think even AIR-FORCE ONE SHOULD BE AIRBUS A380. All those safety features and Boeing just dont use want to take advantage of all that tech. AIRBUS HAS NO PROBLEM UTILIZING TECH TO IMPROVE SAFETY FEATURES. SO All those built with those state of the art safety features Id fly AIRBUS and Im American. Sad we cant trust our own people.

Boeing are their own worst enemy, the majority of their issues that they are suffering from are self-inflicted. I would be very interested to see how each and every single member of the Boeing board of directors would fair in a Fit and Proper Person's test carried out by the FBI or some similar agency or authority.
