This update is certaintly giving off those 2016 rust build/scenery vibes. Great to see the God rock and Anvil rock back. The "ground" looks more rocky as well - but fear not horse fans - horses WILL run along them and other surfaces better than before. I hope they add the bridges that have been in "concept limbo" for years. The "Toxic Village" (Legacy Small Rad Town) looks great with a recycler and some loot boxes (I found 1 mil crate and 4 normal crates). Lastly I have to mention my old love and it's welcome return - the log pile! Best way to get an easy 1k wood :)
Seeing the build spot under the rock brought back a core memory in me. I don't really remember much from rust back then other than some of my crazy wipes. But seeing that rock formation brought back memories of early Frost videos and Zuckles videos. I think I'm finally going to hop back into Rust for a bit with this update after only playing like 2 wipes in like 3 years.
im really hoping they make weather effects more prominent and common. it would be so cool to actually have windy weather, cloudy skies, different fog types, etc. it would be so much more immersive.
I'll finally be able to easy solo again! Rocks also MLRS proof for the most part. 2 tc viable at top and bottom for the god rock too. I'll be DutchLawing (double) in these bad boys, it'll be a rocket soaker!!
I made a post on the Rust subreddit some months ago about potentially bringing the god rocks back. It was the top post for a while and I like to think that the devs saw that post and saw that the community was very much in favor of build-able terrain returning to the game. Maybe I helped, maybe I didn't... I'm just thrilled my favorite build spots are coming back!
I don’t know about you guys but I’ve been having a hell of a time on rust lately I never stopped building bases into sides of rocks so I’m so glad old rock formations are back now if they could do the old river bases back my life would be complete
They just brought back what we used to have, and people are so hyped for this update. Once again, it proves that the old version of Rust is simply better
Watched rust all the time as a kid and now playing it as a teen just doesn’t feel the same, these rocks must’ve been what was missing because I just got a rush of memories just now
Lol I was just about to comment the same. I imagine they'll disregard twig as a "real" wall to begin with to avoid this issue from happening. Although you could still circumvent by shelling your base in stone and demolishing before the timer is up. I don't think wallpaper on the outside is that OP anyway. Wouldn't it break after the first rocket? You can probably shoot incen rounds at it to break it as well. And you can also just melee the exterior to check building material, assuming the base isn't compounded.
@@cyntrix3060They seriously need to need groups but its difficult to know how to approach such thing. Also the previous updates have all been proving that facepunch actually seem to "LIKE" groups... (I wonder if zergs are like the biggest playerbase/audience of the game) and so they like to appease them and won't be nerfing. Whats cool though is definitely this update. It'll make solos, duos, trios a LOT more longevity prone on servers which can mess with zergs. Facepunch likely knew for years that they were going to do this update and knew that it'd be a large difference for both solos and zergs in good and bads ways
A ton of formations like that is a bad idea. They should be as rare as an ice lake. My guess is they will spam them silly, then eventually lower the number of formations on a map. "Too much of a good thing" is a thing.
NO WAY! So excited to see the old school rocks back! be cool if they snuck in one or 2 of the original caves hidden away per map seed but thats wishful thinking.
I've seen this game evolve so much over the past 10 years; it's absolutely insane how they've managed to transform it. I just hope that one day they'll take the anti-cheat system more seriously. Even though there are cheaters, I love my quad teams where we mess around the map and come up with ridiculous plans. But despite the added monuments, electricity, industrial elements, and the farming section, the fact that a cheater can get a VAC ban and easily log into a new account makes the system feel pointless. They should implement a system where you can only log in with an IP address and no VPN. I'm not an IT expert, so don't judge, but the current system clearly isn't working. I don't want Rust to turn into the next Cycle. It's getting dangerously close when cheaters upload their content on RU-vid and nothing happens, like, seriously, wtf...
It's great to see Facepunch continually update the game but they really need to concentrate on optimization. I have a 3070 laptop and I can't even play the game. Hopefully this will happen when they switch the engine 😊
since no one else is mentioning it I will: we don't need the wolves to be more op!! As a solo who is constantly primlocked i don't need to do a boss fight to get my head protection lmao
Everyone complaining about the offlines, FP developers just casually add more cancer ways to build a base that most people are going to only offline. Same with caves. Brilliant, bravo.
The side exposed to the air? I'm pretty sure every side is always exposed to air unless underwater or in space or if the inside is a vacuum or filled with some other gas/liquid.
The rock formations with holes and archers to accommodate based building, do not look natural at all, natural rocks of that composition, solid hard rocks, dont form holes and arches like that, they do in the desert where rock softer.
Question. With the new 'old' world maps coming into play, what does that mean for maps that you find on Just-Wiped. Will these maps still be usable and just generate into the new format?
fingers crossed they add some type of new anti cheat, the new updates look good, but since legacy until now, I feel this game has taken a dive in cheaters.
Wait this actually kinda wild I know it’s such a small thing but rust console got the seed bags before pc rust did?😭 I’m kinda concerned for the game shit gonna be a feature tester for pc
Seems a real shame that wallpapers can't be used in air exposed sides. Facepunch always seems to err on the side of reductive rather than creative with this stuff? I've always enjoyed other players attempts to camouflage their smaller bases in various places and it's a real shame that has been taken away by FP. Yet again back to FP's "fuck solos" attitude.
