I forgot about this feature. Thanks for the reminder, just set up my Subharmonicon, and had a good session. Best wishes for your continued success.

Great video - it’s easy to miss the EG feature. The Subharmonicon manual is very informative and it’s beautiful, but it’s easy to miss some of the key features in amongst all the discussion about intervals, equal temperament and sub-divisions of the bar and of the harmonics. With this feature, it’s much easier to find interesting tunings and set up your sequences.

I genuinely thought I’d already subbed to your channel… Consider it done squire! I like it, that’s a really elegant method for tuning interval interactions. I’ve had mine a couple of years now and have never thought of putting into drone mode for this purpose… I would always hit next and then trigger. Nice one, I know what I’ll be doing this eve! Peace ✌️

It seems a lot of people do not read or read the manual too quickly in their excitement to press on. The Harmonicon manual is excellent and if you notice...the paragraphs repeat over and over just changing a few words. ( Typical American military style....but it works) I read, then double read and I read stupidly slow...every word and digest the sentence meaning. I have seen numerous people use the trigger to tune when they ( should) use the EG button. The reason for this is that all the oscillators including the subs have to be in harmony with each other ...including the tuning knobs on the step sequencer. If you get this wrong it will sound awful. Oftentimes you need two hands. Thats why the EG button can be long pressed to blink and enable all the tuning to be done.

Oh I should start to read the manual 😅 I've always tuned the running sequences. It's not easy but a quick way for changing the key the Subharmonicon's playing in during a live improvisation 😅

That is what I was doing at first but it was hard to find a good consistent tonality. Still managed but after using this technique it is much easier! Thanks for watching.

 @Tiger Arcade Is that the Microcosm effects pedal you are using? Do you highly recommend it? Have you ever used the Source Audio Collider for Delay & Reverb? If so, do you prefer the Microcosm a lot more than the Collider?
@Tiger.Arcade
@Tiger.Arcade Год назад
I have not used the collider tbh. I enjoy using the Microcosm! I do not think it is for everyone based on what genres or styles you are into. It is great for textures and looping. Check out this video I did on it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bh20nT5LqMo.html

@@Tiger.Arcade Thanks for the reply! I prefer the ambient soundscape when it comes to playing synth. Also the indie vibe in the sense of using it for layers and textures. What I don't go for is the techno vibe. Not sure if that helps, but just letting you know. Also, since I play analog synth exclusively, at first I tried to stay away from digital effects, but quickly realized it really is impossible to do so. In any way do you think using a digital effects processor degrades or takes away from playing analog synthesizers? Thanks again!
@Tiger.Arcade
@Tiger.Arcade Год назад
@@alexandermontagnet3361 I'm someone who enjoys analog but I feel like we're in an age where digital is almost indistinguishable from analog. If you do your research enough and like how it sounds and works, I say go for it!

Does the m32 have a “drone” function?
@Tiger.Arcade
@Tiger.Arcade Год назад
Yes. It’s literally a switch you can turn on. The Subharmonicon one is not so obvious.

I most often end up playing the sub in drone mode and manually stepping through the steps! What’s the pedal there?
@bitbe6152
@bitbe6152 Год назад
Stepping manually sounds interesting 😊 the pedals a hologram microcosm 😉
@Tiger.Arcade
@Tiger.Arcade Год назад
Stepping manually with the trigger button is another good way to control it yourself or attaching a midi keyboard. As the other user said, the pedal is a hologram microcosm.
