Nice garden bench/seat. The pointy needle tool your using looks like an "Awl" the long strip hinge is a piano hinge in English as well. I love your project here. really neat. It is called a Wood Awl. 🤔But, you can call it an itty bitty wood needle! Also in English, it is still called a piano hinge. Which is strange, as I never hear any piano music using it! 😮😅 Oh forgot to mention, it might be a good idea to split the bottom of the legs, with say a triangle space (or any gap you prefer ) leading up to the point in the middle, about 4-5”. That way, when the missus uses it on an irregular surface, less chance of it rocking.
Thanks for letting me know! Yes, I considered splitting the legs, but I was a bit concerned that they would sink too deep into the soil when someone is sitting on it. I guess, we'll see how things turn out after a few uses.
@@niclasklinner.woodworker True, yet, even the long flat legs can sink if it is that soft. I tend the garden, know how it can be, and the only thing diminishing that, is a wider foot bottom. Oh well, still, that is a sweet bench.
Smart woodworking with excellent and interesting philosophy taped separately from the background. I have long admired people who speak two languages well, even with a couple of challenges. I also liked the glue spill. We all have those, mostly off camera. It was honest and fun to leave it in. Thank you for sharing this practical project, for explaining alternatives, and entertaining us along the woodworking way.
Great little project. Very useful too for any old creaky gardeners - if they’ve been kneeling down weeding, they can use it to push themselves back up 😊
That's great little project. I have found when installing hinges and brackets with multiple holes start by marking/securing the two outter most ones. Then usie a self centering spring loaded punch to do tbe others. They work great and qiuckly.

I’m a new subscriber and the first time to watch one of your videos, keep the projects coming, I know you told everyone the dimensions of your project as you were cutting and making it, but it would probably to have a material list in the video description for those of us that get so easily distracted lol, we can go back and read the list. I’ll think, but I’m not absolutely sure, because your camera work needs a little work. LOL Your wife was pulling up what appeared to be, again because of your camera work, purslane. I hope she’s not throwing it out or composting it. It is great in a salad or a stirfry!
