As a hobbyist leatherworker I found this video a proper goldmine. Plus, your editing and commentary is on par with Corter leather. You sir, have just earned an instant subscribe.

That's so nice of you to say!

I agree, editing is time consuming. We have a hiking channel that we haven't done much of lately. I just ordered a black and a white 0.2mL of Velodon. I've been doing leather work for several years. A labor of love, not a business although I do sell some items here in the states. California actually and send things to other states as the orders come in. I subscribed today as well. Love your channel.

Great video! Thank you for explaining everything. The one thing I don't completely understand is how the leather can be so soft with the vegetable tan method.
@WillHodges
@WillHodges День назад
Because of the way they tanned it. All tanneries work differently, some are very tough and some are extremely soft.

Love your explanation of the entire process and would like to see a thread comparison video. I searched for xian'ge vs superfine video for a while but was unsuccessful so this will definitely be filling a niche.

Hey Will! Excellent video as always. Where do you get your straight edge / positioning square?
@WillHodges

The 90 degree one you can find by searching ‘engineer square’

I have a master list I’ve been working on with all of the suppliers I can think of, of all the types of leather I know of.

Foam used as a padding is better than leather because it’s soft and it’s not coming through your back of your strap (lining)

How do you install the second keeper?
@WillHodges
@WillHodges 2 дня назад
Slide it over the fat end
@jstudios2698
@jstudios2698 День назад
@@WillHodges i see, so the width of the keeper should be the same as the fat end?
@alexs7758
@alexs7758 День назад
The moving keeper should be installed first because if you have a tapered strap , let’s say 22-18 no change you would slide it over the fat end unless you will leave it very loose which is not ideal
