Greetings from Harmony Turbines! One of the things we've been working on in tandem with our generator testing, is improving the time it takes to both assemble our frames and also install our scoop sets into the frames. Watch this video for some fun timelapse footage and some quick insight into why assembly time remains part of our focus.
We hope you are as excited about these improvements as we are! Assembly time may not feel like an important part of development, but in the future when we’re ready to build these for you, the effort we’re putting forth now will have been completely worthwhile.

Pricing is obviously a ways out yet. However, is it possible you could leave them as a (sort of budget friendly) kit? Basically where the customer assembles them. Might be able to ship via a few boxes std shipping rather than freight. Also with assembly done by the customer save them the assembly labor time. Might only save the customer a few hundred but still. Perhaps it would also help with roof installs to keep from needing special equipment like a crane to get it up there. Just a thought.

build time at 90 minutes comes out to approx. 100 units a month to start. Not bad wish you all the best. As a person living in Cheyenne, WY I am deeply interested in these products since we have probably less than 25 days a year with no wind.

I'm interested in the idea of integrating a series of Harmony Turbines in a "wall" of vertical, bi-facial PV solar panels. Would having the turbines in a gap in a wall help improve efficiency or reduce it? If the wall creates a high-pressure zone on one side and low-pressure zone on the other side, I'm postulating that it could channel air through a gap with a turbine in it (in addition to air just spilling over the top of the wall). Just wondering if you guys have theorized or tested any modeling in this kind of scenario? I could see a setup like that reducing wind velocity but with increased static pressures, perhaps increasing torque potential... or maybe the air accelerates through the gap?

Hopefully you also do on building testing before finalizing on how many scoops the design will use. Since they likely will perform different in real world wind conditions that generally aren't constant wind at a constant speed.

We used the wind tunnel testing to help guide us in the designs, but this is what Alpha and Beta testing will be for... comparing the various designs.

Two questions. I know these are still in the designing phase but... What kind of seasonal or yearly maintenance are you thinking... lube, greasing fittings? Have you started looking at the size of base/foundation or slab are you looking at these requiring?

Love this design. Especially for home users. Have you guys thought about vendor licensing? I am an investor now but waiting patiently now for the ability to sell and install. Can I claim all of Wyoming? Seriously I can put these to work yesterday.

What do you anticipate the KW rating for the 4 scoop units?

We believe the current prototype we are working on (our 400w model) could generate around 400w in a 25mph wind, but the true power output will be determined by our testing and BETA Field testing. We will publish our ratings further down the road when we have tested the turbines sufficiently.

Will you be shipping units assembled or as components? The components approach would seem to be cheaper to ship.

Initially we believe we'll be assembling most of the product, with only minor assembly required by the consumer. The more responsibility for building you leave in the hands of the consumer, the greater the risk of the product not being built correctly. It's possible down the road as the design is fine-tuned and simplified even further, that the component approach could be an option.

Hi, I'm into applying wind energy in other ways than for electric conversion. How is there no 'culture' for the wind powered variaty of what you in the US know as the hit 'n' miss engines? I mean: A windturbine generates enough power to have say a table saw running.

On a good day you could keep the thing on your truck, and plug in a machine such as a tablesaw. Why isn't that commonplace?

Your "Two Scoop" design is inherently more efficient than your "Four Scoop" (really eight scoop) design. If you could stack two 2-scoopers, it would be even better. There is almost always a brisk breeze at my farm here in Moriarty NM. Now if you could solve the energy storage problem as well as the energy generation, you would have a complete solution for off-grid power.
