To have the best life possible, work with what you have. I'm a retired IM Triage, RN, BSN. Most of my patients had major health issues, but together we made 'a plan of care' for them to live the best life possible. Necessity is the Mother of invention. There are multiple ways to get something accomplished. As long as you keep an open mind, you can achieve almost anything. I'm so glad the two of you figured out ways to achieve the things that you want to do in life.
It really made me cry because it's been about 2 decades that my father is paralysed and I myself had a lower back surgery 2 years ago , I injured my back in power lifting, I was 17. Now I'm 22, Alhamdulelah, now I am good and not only can walk but also train chalistenics. The point is, I genuinely know how frustrating and depressing it's when you can't walk and experience pain for years. So you really need a person to love you and support you regardless of your conditions. The woman is an exceptional and rare human, she is like a diamond. Madam if you read my writing you have a heart of diamond.
Please find R.J. Spina to read his books and he has workshops available. He was paralyzed from the neck down and told the doctors that he would be walking in 100 days and he did !
Well it's not surprising. As it is his body. No one outside of you has the power to convince or tell you what you're capable of. That quality of psychology has its own intentions. The depressive state (no different than experiencing anxiety) that one falls into, isn't meant to last. As it's really just a wake up call that most fail to see it for what it is.
Obviously you were willing to take extreme risks to be a mma fighter, you knew a disability was quite possible, it came another way but, why be depressed when it happened? You are still looking for affirmations, attention and adoration because that is who you are, it isn’t about inspiring others! You are living your life, lots of disabled people are living theirs too, without making a big deal of it!
