This Woman Manages America's Oldest Lighthouse 

I've been there and met her. Pretty amazing that she's still there.

I listened to Sally being interviewed on ABC (Australian radio) This morning. She is a great story teller, enthusiastic, and loves her job. Great to actually see her.

Anyone else a little annoyed that they didn't interview this keeper at all? Would have loved to hear from her and find out what brought her to managing the lighthouse.

America's oldest lighthouse is the Barra Lighthouse (Farol da Barra), located in the city of Salvador, Bahia, in Brazil. First built in 1698, and rebuilt in 1839. This is the oldest in the United States of America.

Lighthouses should be kept and should not be demolished. Theres always a chance that our gps fail to function or our entire internet network shut down or destroyed due to war or meteor or solar flare, etc etc. At any rate, they should be kept, and they should be able to function without outside electricity. Just in case.... 1:56 She looks soo....I dont know...Amish or like pictures of first settlers...
