Excuse me, poachers do not kill rhinos and elephants for any reason except profit. They are not wounded creatures, they are monsters who brutalize these animals and leave traumatized babies in their wake so they can turn a buck selling horns and tusks to unscrupulous buyers in Asian countries.

As far as I know it’s usually in protected areas patrolled by guards and the black mambas (an all female anti poaching unit) Shaving down the horns is ineffective since, like our hair and nails it will grow back and the same goes for dyeing, plus they use the horn as a defensive tool, either towards other rhinos or predators of their young

Even without a horn or a dyed one, they're not safe in the wild. Poachers have been known to kill rhinos with dyed or shaved horns out of revenge for having their money making opportunity "robbed" from them. They deserve to be free, for sure, but humans have made it nearly impossible to be both free and safe from poaching. So then, captivity is a necessary "evil". And even that is not a garantee that they won't be murdered by greed.

Rhinos are so precious. About 10yrs ago, it was almost guaranteed I would see a one when driving to the beach. Now we can only see them in sanctuaries. Can’t believe we’ve pushed them so close to extinction🥺

That means for every baby brought into the refuge, the mothers have been killed by poachers for their nose horns ! Their entire existence as rhinos and mothers completely wiped out just for that horn. How truly sad and heart-wrenching and incredibly utterly utterly despicable.

That tears in that little rhinos eyes totally goes to show we humans are doing really horrible to animal's! Please show mercy on them! They are not our food don't make them as one, even they have the right to walk free like us Humans!

All baby animals are beautiful but there is something " extra cute " about a baby Rhino, with those huge feet and the way they skip and jump as they run just melts my heart. You know what's sad though - they are often doing this to themselves.....Due to their small brain and poor eyes and aggression - Rhinos charge each other......
