This is one of most Australian things I’ve ever seen being Australian myself and seeing dozens of kangaroos waiting outside the pub is just priceless to see
@@GerodW I lived in Australia for over 10 years growing up and I was only bit by a snake once luckily it wasn’t venomous although it fucking hurt no spiders nothing else it’s not a bad place to live plus that’s the catch of living in the best country in the world everything wants to kill you
I have been to this pub a few times, but was very disappointed recently, to see it not only closed, but completely bulldozed flat. This was always a great highlight of our holidays to Western Australia and I hope that there are plans to replace it?
@@benja_mint From what I gathered from the story, they're wild and she got the lucky job of being a Roo Rangler, among other things. Sad to hear it's gone.
ive taken a cousin from england to a pub that was in a national park and had a dozen or so roos out the back and in the bar area, BULLDOZED??? pls tell me this isnt the john forrest pub???? EDIT ... i just googled it and it looks like it is , bloody government
She has a lot of patience and a great sense of humor -- and GUTS -- some of these guys look very strong -- I'd be afraid they would punch out my lights -- and then figure out how to get a beer.
😹😹yep they are very strong, specially the males, when they stand up to their full hight I can look a Roo eye to eye, where as the wallabies only get to my waist in height, even then they can be just as strong😹😹we don’t see many of the biggest Roo’s in Australia and that’s the Red kangaroo, they were the ones used in the freak shows back in the 1800-1900 they are more down south of NSW and Victoria to where I live in QLD. I have not seen one in the wild since I stopped long distance travailing back in the early 1990’s.
Omg! This is priceless! Don’t chase the customers! I know ‘Roos can be aggressive but like most animals if you feed them they will love you & these guys obviously do. Such a fun vid!!
I've seen a mob in central Qld that was ten's of thousands,I had to stop on the side road for 5mins let them pass, never seen anything like it,maybe a school of fish would be bigger
If youre in Perth i can point out a few spots where there are more. Not sure if there are more at the mandurah golf club. Might be, but they tend to spread out across the course. Its only when they get together and have a mass snooze on the hill at the first tee (you have to tee off over the top of them. The tee is on the top of the slope so its not hard) that you realise how many there are on the course. The mandurah gold course isnt one of the three spots.
Best time I find is when I’m out just about an hour before sunset, but the one time I never had my camera (pre phone camera days) was just on sunset and they were in front of the sunset racing me in the car I had to stop as I came to the bend in the road as then it would take them across the road in front of me, but the setting sun as they bounced across the hill side was the best moments of my life, not many I would say there was over 50 of them so small compared to the ones out at the dams. They come to my yard at dusk for food and water, I grow a native plant they love to eat, so I always make sure to save seeds every year to keep on hand for the next drought as that’s when we get anywhere upto 10-15 out front where I put the old bathtub as a water feature 😹😹😹
HA HA!!!. That is absolutely priceless. So great. They obviously love and trust you so much. Thankyou for letting our National treasure share your pub and your life. Just beautiful. You are so kind and they are so funny. Love it. They're probably even funnier after a couple of beers!!.
Did you all hear about the 3 Aussie ladies who went into a San Francisco bar? The bar's guests were all in an up roar because a wild city possum go into the bar. The 3 ladies were calm but one of them hurried to the possum, grabs it by the tail and puts it outside! Everyone was very impressed and cheered her when she came back in! Is that a Sheila or what?!
You are blessed to be able to have all those kangaroos at your place thank you for being kind to them please give them some treats I will even send donations if you feed them
Mate, this is not a joke: I went on a hike through the Scenic Rim in southern Qld, camping in tents at night - in roo & wallaby country - but leaving our packs outside. Cheeky buggers knew how to unzip my pack at night (thumbs or no thumbs!!) & help themselves to my trail mix, breakfast cereal, bread, crackers, dried fruit, you name it!!
It's a free country (well last time I checked anyway). She's a beautiful soul. It's so hard for them out there nowadays. Let her feed them. She's not hurting anyone. If anything, she's giving back.
We are taking everything from vital native wildlife. Wonderful pubs like this understands that business and conserving nature's biodiversity does not have to be a separate matter.
No one but no one drinks that horrible shitty beer here in Australia. Not even the roos. Plus no one ever says crikey. I think Steve Irwin was the only Aussie I've I've heard say it. It really made me cringe.
Once Sonny got old enough and she no longer had to worry about him falling down a well all the time, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo left Waratah National Park and hopped west to get herself her dream education. Skippy got her doctorate in astrophysics from the University of Jerramungup in Western Australia and was one of the first to point out that Australia should really be called the Land Up Over since regarding the solar system from the southern ecliptic is the correct view and on world maps the South Pole should be at the top. Professor Skippy is a bit of a nitpicker when it comes to actual, specific details. Professor Skippy is currently teaching multiverse hyperdimensional dynamics at the University of Toowoomba in Queensland. "No wonder world affairs are so topsy-turvy if everyone always keeps seeing the planet upside down!" ---Professor Skippy In her off time, Professor Skippy is an avid surfer and loves to hit the waves at nearby Gold Coast or down north at the Sunshine Coast. "Rooabunga! Surf's up! Grab your boards!" is her favorite funtime beach mantra. Professor Skippy has already won several prestigious awards in the kangaroo surfing categories. "Surf to live. Live to surf." ---Professor Skippy Professor Skippy is also an accomplished musician and is regarded as a world-class didgerido player and is famous for playing Chopin sonatas on the didgerido. She often plays as guest first-chair didgerido in the Toowoomba Philharmonic Orchestra. When modern life becomes a little too hectic, Professor Skippy will take time off and go hopabout across the Queensland landscape to reestablish Dreamtime in her soul.
"When is Northern Territory going to get a REAL name? Calling it North Australia would be so cliché as there are already South Australia and Western Australia. My vote would be to call it Slartibartfastland in memory of Slartibartfast designing the planet in the first place for the sake of pan-dimensional hyper-intelligent mice. It's because of Slartibartfast that Australia even exists." ---Professor Skippy
That is the difference between Australians and Americans. An Australian can appreciate a kangaroo or wombat, they don’t have a burning desire to make it a pet the way we Americans do everything, from pigs, prairie dogs, turtles, snakes, calves, donkeys, beavers and sea lions or whatever else we think is cute
I have noticed that some Americans have taken to buying wallabies as pets and calling them kangaroos 🙄🙄🙄 even Salt Lake City zoo had the names wrong when I was there in 94’ they were calling the wallabies kangaroos 🤔🤔🤔a kangaroo when standing can look me in the eye directly where as a wallabies an full height only reaches my waist😹😹😹 I am 5’10” a big Red well if it went to full height I would run in the opposite direction they are that tall that it could take on a NBA player, they are rare to see now the most common are the western grey kangaroo as they are everywhere same as the wallabies and they are dark brown during the summer but their fur turns to looking black tipped on the brown, they look so cute you want to cuddle them, but their claws are sharp and they can still pack a punch😹😹😹
