We once had everything we ever wanted... the land was just right, the home built custom by us-for us, the neighborhood was great, we grew all our own food, business was great.... but we packed something.... the future, try as we might we could not see a prosperous future for our children. We could not see them able to flourish as Christians in Canada anymore nor be able to financially afford their dreams, Canada wad becoming far too expensive and so.... we made some massive changes....
We have made a huge family decision to sell everything and relocate to an area that will be safer for our family as Christians in the long term.
This has not been an easy decision but one we felt we needed to make for our children and theirs.
We took this summer off and traveled the USA and have now flown across the ocean to Tbilisi Georgia.
We rented an apartment/hotel in Marjanishvili Square for 8 days but have just found a house outside the city where we can spend the next weeks/ months as we wait for our paperwork to start our NEW adventure in Russia.

I'm a couple videos behind. I drove my oldest brother and one of my sisters down to Florida to visit our 90 year old Mom for a bit. Old Tbilisi is very beautiful! That tour ride with the guy was pretty awesome. He was full of information. Who knew Tbilisi was 1500 years old?! 🤯 So much to see there! 🤩

Glad you’re all feeling better! I saw those underground store tunnels on someone else’s video. I’m sure the change of diet/water effects one persons health. Maybe because of past wars there, they may feel safer with stronger material for the buildings.

Some of us are feeling better, some are feeling worse.... might be the diet, not sure. The concrete is because it's cheap here... wood needs to be imported and is therefore more expensive.

Here in the US today is Thanksgiving. Which is making me wonder about holidays in Georgia. Do they have Christmas off like we do? I know they probably celebrate Christmas on a different day due to a different calendar, but is it a national holiday they don't have to work on? Any other national holidays? Just curious.
@countrysideacreshomestead2008

Their Christmas is Jan 7, not sure about if they still have to work on national holidays, I'm guessing that would depend on your pay grade. It may be in your best interest to work right?

It's interesting, being here a month now, the city is starting to grow on me.... I still want more space and room for critters but there is a lot of convenience in the city and it's really cheap living here. As for Russia it really depends on where you are. Western Russia is on the European plain and was the same temp as where we lived in Ontario, Canada last year. Siberia is whete it's cold, the Ural mountain make a big difference.
@DartXL
@DartXL 6 месяцев назад
Russia is large and there are areas where, as in Georgia, the temperature does not drop below zero, for example in Sochi, near Georgia. The mild climate of Kuban, Stavropol Krai (Krasnodar) and other southern lands also give great yields in agriculture, but it will cost more to buy land there.

Are you sure the statues are of St George? I have an old silver boxfrom the 1850's that has Peter The Great slaying the Dragon, on horseback.....Same scenario....Seems strange they would have two different heroes......

I apologize, I stand corrected....Peter 1 (The Great) is mounted on a horse, but not killing a dragon....I think it is St George after all...I got my artifacts confused.... I should have researched it online before I wrote... I am ashamed for having doubted...... However, we are commanded to test all things....@@countrysideacreshomestead2008

Saint George on horseback slaying a serpent (in the form of a dragon) is the patron saint of Moscow and is depicted in the center of the coat of arms of Russia. So it is one and the same biblical plot. But if you have met that exactly so Peter I was depicted, it is someone's thoughtless joke, just humor of some too patriotic, but not too religious Russian.
