Jameson Williams will be entering his 3rd NFL Season with the Detroit Lions in Fall of 2024, and will have a breakout season after facing lots of adversity! / steezbreakdowns
Couldn’t agree more. He is going to Breakout next season for sure. He is electric. The Chemistry between Goff and Jamo has been built. Jamos confidence is back up and Lions fans are behind him 100 percent. The kid is always smiling always happy, always blocking his ass off and doing everything he can to help the team. 80rec 1100yds 10tds, 250yds rushing 4tds
Lmao. He caught 50 percent of his passes last year. That's absolutely pathetic. He's not good. He's not electric. He's fast. That's it. Plain and simple.
@@brayallen7290 he had a catch % of 49% last season. Larry Fitzgerald (widely considered as the best hands ever) rookie year had a catch % of 51% Williams had 4 dropped passes this year. Fitz had 5 in his rookie year........ Time will tell, but judging a WR (ANY player really) on what they do there rookie year is pretty stupid.......
The other thing they started doing towards the end of the season is running intermediate routes. Instead of trying to spring him long all the time. Started giving him the 10-20 yards routes. That's when he started getting better.
Jamo is easily a top 5 speedy WR in the league. He opens up everything as does Gibbs. Add them with Ra and LaPorta and an elite OL and this offense is insane.
Aren’t like 1/7 of his career touches touchdowns or some wild stat like that? We saw in the NFCCG that he’s fully integrated into the offense. Now, with a whole offseason to completely sync up with Goff and work on the flaws in his game, he’s going to go the fuck off.
Jamo also opens up the field for other teams have been consistently double teaming him, and when they do that they can’t stack the box, we need to get better at when teams want to stack us taking deep shots
After hearing “phantom holding call” and seeing the play after I was crying of laughter when I saw him get grabbed by the neck and slammed to the ground.
He gets open a lot. If he played with an offense that called his number more often or made him more of a focal point, more people would appreciate his route running.
Jamo’s role should eventually turn into a Desean Jackson, Will Fuller type. Maybe 60-70 catches for 1000-1100 yards and 6 or 7 TDs a year. He’ll be a very useful player long term, but I’m not sure he’ll get enough looks to be a star as long as he’s with Detroit. The best he can be next year is the third option in a pretty balanced offense.
The old fans that just want handshake “how do ya do” players were hating this guy hard. It was crazy annoying and toxic. I’m so glad he’s ignored them and even showed his commitment towards the community. I take my time calling out everyone that disrespected him.
The people who are calling him a bust probably can't even catch a football lol It's been rough for him sure but it's rare for anyone to come into the nfl and have immediate success..he will be a top wr eventually imo
Goff needs to lead Jamo. He is so fast that a lot of his long catches required him to stop and or back track to get to the ball....if the ball can keep up with Jamo he will blow open the field.
Jamo opens up the field in many situations and is also a great blocker. Goff hardly ever throws to him when he's wide open but when he does throws 1 out 6 are not that great throws. Hopefully they both get more chemistry together in the off season. Predictions Jamo, 1123 yards 8 Tds 3 rushing
I really do think the kid just needed time to mature and adjust to the nfl game. He really hit his stride in terms of pure route running late last season going into the playoffs. I'm excited to see what he looks like after a full offseason's worth of work and training with Goff.
Big fan of every J-mo bomb. Makes me nervous he often comes up limping after several of his big plays. I don't question his toughness but am concerned with his health over the course of the year as his wheels are his number one asset!!
I am a Lions fan. One Pride! But before we call something a phantom holding call, lets look again at Jarran Reed (#90) who is placed in a rear-naked choke and pulled backward to the ground at the 0:57 second mark.
Anyone saying he sucks doesn’t understand the importance of missing your first 2 off seasons in the NFL. Development is extremely hard when you’re literally unable to implement yourself into the system. If there’s one thing that makes Ben Johnson a good OC, it’s his ability to adapt the offense to his players. A complete off season, pre-season, and regular season with Jamo will allow him to staple himself into the offense and develop to his true potential.
J-MO for 600 yds should be the floor! He's a big fast weapon and Goff needs to trust him more. If he plays the full season, breaking 1,000 receiving yards is doable.
For haters that say he’s bad, you must see some of his missed catches. Most of them are just flags, and he may not be a chest catcher he tore his acl so don’t blame him
That touchdown against the pack shows how dangerous he is. 2 dudes right there, catches it stumbles, and blows those 2 guys out of the water with that ridiculous speed
You stated at the beginning that every single pass from Goff was right on the money. What are you watching? Virtually every pass is behind him or underthrown.
A lions fan of 37 years I've watched wayy to many wrs come thru here who where supposedly the next best thing, he can run he can block or he can block and o man can he catch and nothing happens. I would enjoy watching him run all over the field, but I just don't think it'll happen. I've watched him drop easy balls, 2 hands on it and nothing. Truly enjoy eating my words but I think he'll come out as a mediocre receiver which is fine just not 1st round hype.
Agreed, but these are basic things id expect from any NFL WR. I mean they are basic skills at college level. Can he adjust to the ball and catch with his hands? lol I sure hope so
People ask me why certain Lions' players don't show up and I laugh. We have elite players that will take away from the others. We can threaten any game plan with multiple players. Some players are just not going to be a big part of the game plan. :) It sucks that Jared struggled with getting the ball deep enough for Williams. He is definitely going to be a huge playmaker if Goff can throw far enough.
Phantom holding call? You can see the left guard of the Lions take one dude down via a pretty sweet rear naked choke, but I guess when you're playing the Slackers, you do what you can.
I'm kinda tired of everyone saying he's GONNA be awesome. Let's just BE awesome. Enough jibber-jabber. Put up or shut up. I'm expecting 60 receptions. If he has less than that... well, then we shouldn't have traded up and taken him at 12. That's poor production for such a high pick. If he has 75 I'll be super-happy. If he has 90 I'll be gobsmacked. My prediction is he'll be nagged by injuries and end up with like 45 receptions, 6 TDs, and 700 Yards. Maybe 3 rushing TDs? And btw, I'd LOVE to be proven wrong.
I haven't seen anything but inconsistencies with Jamo. He drops so many passes that he makes Kadarius Toney look like Jerry Rice. Below average catch in traffic, below average route running, he can block pretty decent. As a die-hard Lions fan of 40+ years, it's hard to say all of this, but I'm just stating the obvious
He had 5 drops last year, all in the first 6 games. Ncua led the league with 13 drops and Tyreek had 12. St. Brown led the lions with 8 drops and Gibbs had 6. Are you saying that Gibbs and St. Brown can’t catch?
@stevebrimmer1290 I don't recall mentioning St Brown or Gibbs in my comment. He hasn't even lived up to half of the expectations. When the Lions traded up to get him, they were expecting a burner who could thrive as a playmaker. They got a struggling receiver who is inconsistent. Everyone brings up his injury when he's playing bad. If it truly was because of his injuries, he's a liability at this point. I'm a fan of his. I supported the trade to move up and get him. I want him to be threat for defenses with his speed and playmaking abilities. He just hasn't shown me he can consistently contribute. I hope he makes me eat my words. It'll only improve the offense that is already in the top 3 to top 5.
No lmao. We won't. I am a die hard lions fan. Have been sense I was a kid. 32 now. Jamo is another wasted pick and roster spot. And I will be back here for my receipts for anyone that tries and says different. He's literally caught 50 percent of the passes thrown to him. He's a true 50/50 ball. He's trash. He's fast. But he's trash.
That's hilarious you obviously didn't watch many games than. Over half the catches he made were TDs. Made several big runs and long catches. Dropped a few yes but he made more TDs than Reynolds and Khalifa combined last season. His young and his fast.
@iroach7715 how can you just say a guy sucks that’s coming off a ACL injury then got suspended so he never got a full season to learn the playbook he start playing more when they were comfortable with his ability to know and understand the playbook and most his drops were cause the ball was under thrown now he finished the season strong and has a full offseason to work more with his qb and teammates I’m sure his gone have a nice breakout season next year
