I have enjoyed watching the refit in Tassie, my home state. Practical craftsmanship at its very best. Even better to see her back on the water putting everything to the test. Brilliant videos, a Sunday morning treat.
I really enjoy your videos and quite obvious that you know your boat inside and out AND that you are, without doubt, one of the best sailors on RU-vid!
Great getting to know you guys, Here on the UK have had lock downs and as my wife died just before the first lock down and have spent months on my own , have had some mental heath issues , watching sailing sites have been a life saver to me , yours is my favourite and it has been a real privilege to join you both on your adventures. all the the very best for the future
Great thought process, testing in real conditions before committing to a particular set up. The right way is what works for the skipper of their vessel. Loved the sound of the surf at anchorage. Have fun guys
We're so glad you've found the Shuttle Chef as good as we said it was. Fantastic for passage food and so energy efficient. We couldn't do without in Our Galley. Cheers!
Impressive boatmanship. Calm, cool, and collected-and going fast. In the last video you jibed in strong wind without brining in the main sheet. I thought that was a no-no.
I’ve seen many channels on sailing, and without a doubt yours truly defines it , thank you for sharing all you do,your in my prayers as is all those who sail around the free world…
Was introduced to the "Magic Pot" slow cooker concept on a short handed delivery of a 43footer (from Melbourne to Fiji )a few years back....we copped a hiding with 2 record breaking east coast lows - so no self steering was possible....but that didn't mean we didn't eat well. The "Pot" produced some fantastic meals - a memorable one was a Moroccan Lamb Shoulder with veges...in 35 kts of breeze and super confused seas! Wouldn't do serious sea miles without a Pot like that. So efficient...and delicious!!
Best true SAILING channel out there. So appreciative of the education you two provide without feeling like I'm being taught -just having a conversation. BTW, I really like the "low-tech" passage tracker with the map and the marker (two thumbs way up)! In an upcoming episode, could you possibly discuss your line management on board when underway and when anchored/moored/at dock? Thanks, and keep up the marvelous work!
Absolutely love you guys and your videos! Just found your channel a few days ago and have been binge watching every video from the start. On episode 123 as I'm typing this! 😁⛵❤
New camera resolution really noticeable … 👍🏼 … both in the cabin and on deck, some awesomely good captures. Oh, and the sailing, the narrative and you two - all totes dang spiffy too. 👏🏽💯💥🤛🏽
Hi, im still enjoying your info, tales and thoughts. Always a great vlog, keep it up. Great to see you back on the seas, and boy does she look great...
Absolutely fabulous ‼️ ✨ 👍 ✨ Some of the biggest Pascale smiles........eva‼️. The yacht looks incredible and thanks for the dynema (sp?) tips. ✨🌊⛵️🏝👙🌞🍷✨
💖⛵️🇦🇺 Love your wonderful Avenue, 🌸🦋 all the work on your yacht ⛵️ looks fantastic, Does she handle like a racing yacht now, Another great episode keep safe 🦋💖⛵️🎣
Boat looks and sounds happy and passengers look happy 🥳. There is sailing and then there is this “visceral” salt spray, rails in the water sailing that you two are doing 👍. You two amaze me ... I would volunteer to be a ship mate, however, I would need to be secured to the mast 24/7 as Bill Murray was in “What about Bob” 🥴. I am in SoCal and it amazing how several channels I watch have a mention of Adelaide, Australia ... Sounds like a nice place for cycling, boating, wine makers, etc. Amazing journey continues .. Cheers, Matthew
We use a similar thermal cooker to make yogurt and Natto. One thing it didn't work well for for us was cooking beans that had soaked overnight and we actually got a little sick from the natural anti-nutrients in the beans, so we switched back to the pressure cooker for the beans.
Sheepskin is great choice for lining but periodically wipe it down with with a wet cloth and a light dish detergent. You should avoid machine washing as it removes the natural lanolin in the hair fibers. Your redesign of the interior is just lovely.
Love the videos and the walk-through of the new rigging! Something struck me when talking about the chafe, I know of a product called "Liros Slide Protect-XTR" which, from what I've been able to gather, is essentially a hollow dyneema sleeve for your lines. You could cut off a 30 cm section, pull your line through it and then stitch it on where, for example, the wind vane steering line goes through that fairlead. That way you can keep lines thin, light and easily manipulated while the chafe happens on the cover instead of on the line itself. I'm sure there are other manufacturers and of a similar product, the Liros one happens to be the one I know of. I'm also not sure if this is priced in a way that makes it cheaper to just replace the dyneema line instead, it might very well be. I just thought it might be a neat thing for you in case you hadn't seen it around!
Giddy up Mirrool, she loves her new suit of clothes!! Rollen along in a good small boat is so much fun, for those who haven`t done it your missing out!!
I bought a Albin Vega 27 last week, but I don't think it will be as fast as your lightning ⚡ My plan is to sail around the world trying to catch every kind of fish there is! 🙂
For the record, I'm #412 in likes. G'day from across the ditch. She was screaming along. Looks faster than 6kn. Like your choice of music too. Looking forward to the next adventure. Take care. Atb from across here in Nz.
Nice video, great that rigging is working like you need it too, and you can never think of everything all at once, sometimes you gotta see what you need first. have a great day, sailing, walking, or just snoozin !
Hello, great job on Dynnema, Thanks for sharing your experience, I am using Sampson rope non heat treated. My rig is too new to see any issues, we using lashing, we crank with the cockpit winch. The boat is a 36 1991 Jeanneau.
Great video ... again! Pesky ... a thousand thanks for solving one of my issues! How to cook and keep pots of food warm for an extended time ... Solution "thermos shuttle chef"!
im just so glad you are back on the water, the whole refit thing is bit getting old , most of the sailors worth the follow bean on the hard for some time. good to have you wet .
Wow beautiful sailing, boat looks so awesome now, really love the way she turned out...excellent video guys. Keep up the great content, best channel ever. Be safe take care from Canada.😎👍👍
You both are so happy. It's great to see the product of all that work (and planning) pay off. She's a fine vessel and you should both be proud. I'm interested to know what size shuttle chef you have.
