Idk if your still looking for suggestions but my favorite short film channel on yt. Is DUST they do sci-fi, fantasy and some horror but not alot. Everything is really well thought out and I'd say nothings over pg13 so far.

The allergy story was a lightly modified (or I guess heavily modified because faking a medical emergency to own your MIL probably isn't legal) AITA post. There's a couple within the same genre but a very specific one was "in laws tried to trick me into eating food I was deathly allergic to because they thought I was lying"
It’s not just that one. Nearly every video dhar Mann makes comes from an anecdote he ripped from Reddit subs like r/AITA, r/off my chest/trueoffmychest, and others.
Keep it up going on 5 years off heroin. Sometimes it felt impossible but each day is also gets easier and easier. And learning integrity truly learning it and learning your triggers and signs you are going to use again and learning to reach out to another person during those times are important for my success. My favourite Dhar Mann clone channel is the one where every other aspect of the film production is exactly the same except for that the characters have superpowers. Like they don’t have weird names or wear costumes or anything else unusual; it’s literally just as if you made a totally normal Dhar Mann film, but the main character can stop time or fly. It’s an actual fever dream.
I was hoping the plot twist in the second story was that the woman’s daughter was also allergic to honey and when they ate the ham, she was the one who suffered and then the MIL/grandma would really regret what she did.

I just acted in a Dar Mhan ripoff this past weekend so I feel pretty well equipped to answer your question at 12:50, and the answer is yes and no. I took the job in order to pad my CV and demo reel and it wasn't until after I'd agreed to do it that it became clear what kind of production it was, or that I probably won't be able to use a single shot in my reel. I'm just lucky because at least this studio does not have the name recognition that Dar Mhan does by now, so I'm still able to put it on my CV without people immediately knowing it's trash even if I can't actually use it in my reel. These studios all operate by preying on new/young actors who either don't know any better or are desperate for work (or to pad their CV/reel), and are most importantly *non-union* , which is how they can get away with paying us less than minimum wage. I thought it would be normal to accept such shitty payment this early in my career, but I literally just signed on with an indie band to shoot their music video for $350 (the DM ripoff only paid $75), almost half of which is coming from the director's paycheque because he felt bad about casting the part so last minute. That is the difference between people who use actors for art vs. people who use actors for profit, and it's really frustrating how people on the profit side will generally come out on top every time. ETA that's not even to mention the painfully typical straight white male (read: wildly unprofessional) behaviour there was invovled with that production. from the script to the direction to the costuming, it was a complete fucking mess. ETA again: Also please don't judge the actors too harshly for these, we are literally told to act badly and that it is going to feel unnatural but that's just the "style" they're going for. needless to say, I have some regrets lol.
I work in production as well and it is so refreshing to hear this . The amount of embezzlement in media is insane . And how much lack of art is even more insane .
It is sad. Recently i helped a mall's manager organize an event. We didn't have high budget but my idea was we dont get too many people and pay as fairly as possible. However, the person who was hired to help us find people literally took the full payment and didn't bother to split it among the people she found to perform. All in all, I realize people can be really shitty the moment they have any authority.

Yellow bell peppers are actually higher in vitamin c than green ones. I didn’t know this until I read about foods higher in vitamin c for Guinea pigs. The yellow also taste the best, imo. Just a random thought 🤣 Love the video. You crack me up.
If you’re doing any more bad movie reviews, they tried to do a sequel to mean girls and it was so bad that it was actually kind of funny. None of the original cast was in it. Check it out sometime. Edit: the principal is the same guy, but no one else from what I can tell.

Okay but my friend’s crazy mother in law actually did try to send her into anaphylactic shock. She’s allergic to walnuts and her MIL put walnuts into her meal to see if she was telling the truth. 😳 My friend thankfully didn’t stop breathing because she’s not deathly allergic, but did end the day with a terrible migraine. That and a better understanding of how her MIL feels about her. 👀
This happens way more often than people think. I’ve had it done to me (not by my MIL, though!😆) I will die, however, so it always sends me to the ER. I don’t understand why people do this. It’s basically attempted murder.

There's a commentary youtuber Jarvis Johnson that does Dhar Mann bingo on his live channel. Those videos have so many common tropes that he made a bingo card and he watches Dhar Mann videos with his audience and they play bingo together! they're so fun to watch
The juxtaposition of the over the top/over-simplicity is what makes his videos so watchable. My daughter started watching his videos and I always got sucked into the plot every time I'd go in her room while it was on. I do like that each one has some sort of moral or message to convey though... At first, I didnt know how to feel about the current drama surrounding him. All I could go by is just one side of the story bc he hasn't addressed anything, other than I think a few sentences on IG, which didn't actually address anything at all. That in itself, I dont like, and seems pretty sus to me. So I felt like I had to side with the actors. All they wanted was to sit down and have a meeting with him and he just totally refused to do it, and has been going after them individually, making copyright claims on all of their content, including those videos which they are legally permitted to use per their contracts, AND, he's even making copyright claims on videos they post which have nothing to do with him at all. Literally, videos they made about starting their own channel, he has made copyright claims on. Its his actions surrounding all of this that, imo, show a man acting like a child.
So I heard on a deep dive somewhere that Dhar says he purposely keeps it simple and repetitive to make sure it's understandable across languages. Sounds honorable but so does paying your freaking team sooooo...🤷🏾♀️
These shows are all over my nephew's RU-vid, I think they are geared towards kids, so the fact that they have this many views, goes to show how many children are watching RU-vid. I always make sure to talk to my nephew and my son on how these videos work. They are used ro pull on your emotions, grabbing your attention so you continue to watch. It's crazy how much we watch, yet so hard to stop because its now become a part of our routines. A week ago, I was waiting in a doctor's office, the waiting room was full and every single person was on their phone. I just sat back and observed. I watch, too, it's hard not to, but please learn to watch responsibly. You should do a video about the tarot readings... I fell hard into hat trap for like 2 months until I realized I was dillusional and I don't need anyone to tell me where my life is going or what relationship I should be in.

If you liked Dhar Mann, you should check out the generic brand versions where channels try to do the same formula but with even more over-the-top acting and tons of green screens (right up your alley). I think the one I've seen is called Totally Studios.

Starting actors build reels to submit for casting jobs. Cast and crews in low to no budget productions work for free in exchange for reels. Actors have to pay for acting classes, work on networking, pay headshots, membership fees to casting websites and also pay the union if they are a member, while also doing a day job.

Okay, the food allergy one? It can be hard having a weird food allergy. Even my own mom, sister, and brother in law still don't take it totally seriously (even though we couldn't have lemons within 20 miles of the house because my mom's deathly allergic). I'm allergic to hot peppers. Well, really it's the capsaicin IN the peppers (also in toothache plant apparently. Guess who found out the hard way). VERY allergic. It's like having anaphylactic shock in my intestines. My stomach and intestinal tissue swells and makes me look 8 months pregnant. No idea why my throat doesn't close (it does get tight, but not closed). It's EXCRUCIATING and even with medication takes DAYS to go down along with having a very careful and sensitive diet for up to 2 weeks. They still go "oh! Sorry, I put cayenne in this... it's only a little bit, though." Uhh... a "little bit" is enough. ANY is enough. But yeah, HILARIOUS skits. What a find! 😂
