Thomas and Friends: The CGI Series | Char Rambles 

Thomas the Tank Engine Series was one of my oldest childhood memories and since then I love both the models and the CGI. It's a shame that the CGI Thomas and Friends series has coming to the end because I would to see continuing visiting other countries a bit more as he hasn't have a chance to visit American, Germany, France, Mexico, Berlin, and Japan as well as meeting the other engines featuring in "Thomas and Friends The Great Race" like Vinnie, Frieda, Axel, Ivan, Etienne and Carlos. But sadly it's not going to happen now no thanks to Mattel.

While overall a really good video there are two things i wanna address in the BWBA section I personally think there were a handful of solid enough episodes from other writers than just Michael White. And when Jam Filled bought Arc most of the team that had worked on the series was brought back so the staff that worked on BWBA is overall the same one who worked on the Brenner seasons, the actual reason everything suffered so much was because BWBA was such a massive scope of a production for a CGI TV show that the team had to sadly cut corners to make sure they wouldn't fall behind the deadlines.

Leave it to corporate greed to ruin a beloved childhood memory. I grew out of Thomas after Shining Time wrapped up, and I can't believe he went the same way as Teen Titan, and Thundercats. Great vid as always.

I grew up watching the Nitrogen era and I liked it a lot when I was a kid, even tho some episodes sucked, but it had nostalgia especially the hit era

Nice video. With all due respect though, I don't think it's fair to once again just blame Sharon Miller AGAIN for the Miller era. First of all, the Miller era was not that bad. Some of the stories are at least more watchable than others. Clearly, Hit was trying to gently break Thomas into CGI and they were being experimental with each season. That said, remember that Sharon Miller was only the head writer. She was not the CEO of Hit Entertainment. She took her marching orders from the CEO and the Board who clearly had their own agenda for Thomas. Furthermore, Sharon Miller did prove that she could write Thomas stories that were really good. She was allowed a bit more freedom with the movies and both Hero of the Rails and Blue Mountain Mystery were good movies. It's true that Misty Island Rescue was a bit silly, but it was still a fun adventure with a good moral, and Miller's original script for Day of the Diesels was a lot darker, but the management stepped in and ordered her to lighten the story up. The final result still had its exciting moments and did introduce the Diesels properly into CGI, even if Miller had to cut back a little. The point is, Miller actually did understand Thomas and wanted to write quality stories, but the management of Hit Entertainment ordered her to write the formulated stories they wanted for the show. They gave Miller some freedom for the movies because they were in part theatrical releases, but even then not too much. It was NOT Sharon Miller's fault. She did try.

I got to say I wish Thomas was bought out by another Brand well it wouldn't have the same animation feel if they went to CGI but I hope someone gets the brand or the CGI model getting leaked online. Or what ever comes first.

I’m a Thomas fan, and I can say, the cgi series is a very mixed beast

If we talk about BWBA S22E2 Forever & Ever, it at least showed us a reaction of Gordon, the third original character to Henry's Departure, they could have made this into another episode, without Gordon. So, it at least gets that point, not for how they did it, but at least that's somewhat included. But you're still right about the rest. And, which I'm sure everyone who really watches Thomas can agree on, it's best that the show ended after S24. At least, Big World, Big Adventures was somewhat realistic, of course not with the bouncing and Thomas without a reason going around the World, but other than that, it was still ok. I really think it's the worst of T&F (Not AEG), but not too far off. It's almost the same level as S13-16 & maybe some S8-12 Episodes/Seasons

BWBA era was trash, except for the Michael white episodes, the episodes that feature The Pack and all of the Narrow Gauge

leave it to mattel to ruin everything bro i can't believe that we went from seasons 5 and 20 to i can't even say at least i can tolerate the nitrogen era me and my brother watched aeg and i can't believe that i liked that show but soon after looking on the internet i finally got sense knocked into i'll just watch classic seasons and brenner seasons and maybe miller seasons only bc nostolga but i hate the new show will thomas forever be in my heart rip also some of the characters that i wanted to return like the rest of the pack, boco, bear ,duke , mighty mac , freddie , and the hit era characters only bc i wanted the show to fix them and the season 7 characters , heck even george could have returned , i also wanted splatter and dodge back but at least i can play roblox and roleplay as if aeg never happened and the show being good again and never being cancled and edward and henry are back but nia and rebecca back and i wish that they could have fixed the show before it was too late but i have like idk 40% hope that the show can still be saved and 60% percent that i just have to accept that my favorite little blue engine is gone and won't be saved and that i'll just have to watch fanmade content and fanmade thomas content creators like ,mainlaind,epiclaifetu sorry if i spell wrong, ilovetrains323, and nino productions make amazing work i wish that there work was the actual show but every show has an end and it looks like thomas reached his may he forever be in my heart

My suggestion is that Britt Allcroft 👩‍🦱made a mistake turning Thomas The Trains 🚂 into cgi and should have stick to the classic models

I kind of feel the same way towards the reboot as how some people feel towards the new chuck e cheese, it's so far removed from where it started I don't care anymore. BWBA for comparison is avenger Chuck, it's trying to be something different but it's so clearly still the same thing underneath, so it feels super wrong. BWBA is the worst thing to come out of the franchise, not only because of it's quality or lack therefore for a lot of it's run, but also because it pretty much killed the show. Nitrogen was boring and you can definitely say that a product being boring is the worst, but I disagree in this case. Nitrogen was very respectful to what came before, and I've been rewatching a lot of the show recently. Everything in BWBA is a downgrade imo, I'd rather my characters be mindless and replaceable in a story than whatever BWBA gave us because that's the worst thing nitrogen did. Nitrogen's animation is also freaking amazing, I love the over exaggerated movement, later seasons look so lame without it and BWBA just looks like garbage. BWBA might have nice lighting but there is noticably less effort put into it, which I doubt is really the animators fault because they did a fine job before. Every new character in BWBA probably reuses something from another character and there's only, like, 4 of them that don't do this I'm willing to bet. It just screams cheap, but hey, at least the quality of the show finally matches the merchandise quality again, just like in the classic era. Full circle, I guess. I've seen only a handful of AEG and it's just okay for what it is from what I remember. I'm really just upset that all of the merchandise had to be affected. What's even worse is that the merchandise is actually good. Why couldn't you put this much effort into the franchise before, Mattel? I'm not accusing them of anything, it just makes me pretty upset. Motorized was just getting good, I feel like both that and the wooden railway line were just killed off too soon. It's hard to imagine that this brand was once so big, you'd think it was something that only existed for a decade or two by the way Mattel treated it towards the end. I'm glad it the original show was killed of if BWBA was going to continue. Also, a side note. I think the reason nitrogen and the later hit seasons never did anything too insane like BWBA was because there was a clear time period set, the 1950s. If you think about it that way, a lot of decisions make sense, like the endless Diesels vs Steamies thing. You'd assume that's when that conflict started to take place. All the mentions of scrap also make more sense as well, because it was happening in real time. Everything from Hit to nitrogen has almost not connected to the classic series, so using character development and timeline stuff doesn't really work imo, not from an in canon standpoint, just in general. Which is why I generally let those seasons slide because everything that happens in them are completely and utterly harmless aside from a few small character things. I've been rambling way to much so I'll end it here.
