Genial tu podcast Javier, que bueno que me tope con él! Me gustó mucho que de todas las entrevistas que he escuchado a Piketty es la primera que se indaga en su juventud como académico! Por otro lado me alegro que haya escrito Una Breve Historia de la Igualdad, me gustó mucho ya que es de facil y rápida lectura, a diferencia de El Capital en el Siglo XXI (que aunque siempre dice que es para todo público, debo decir que no puedo estar más en desacuerdo jajaja no se me hizo muy facil leerlo). It is great that authors like Piketty ask the questions of cultural studies or Caribbean studies in the central debates of Best Seller academic economics, it was more than necessary; it is as important as James Robinson's influence has been in the expert view on Colombia to understand that regional convergence is not achieved due to historical factors of violence and institutional extractivism that accentuate the agrarian structures of the country. It is better that the Best Sellers of macroeconomics say it because nobody believes the experts of other disciplines due to their ideological noise.
Thanks for your comments, Leonardo. I agree with you. My general take in these situations is to listen and read everyone, and then build your own view based on whatever seems reasonable from all that. Intellectual affiliation usually doesn't do much good when dealing with practical matters. Un saludo
