Thomas Quick must have given an extraordinary serious lesson to the Police and Juridical system how they work: investigate cases, questions or interview their clients, judge them, etc. Also to the Psychiatry system which thinks can "go loose" (unnoticed) when they treat patients who suffer from serious traumatic events, with strong psycho-pharmacy Benzodiazepines, instead of helping. To the Psychologists who should understand troubles T.Q has, their roots in childhood and his cry for attention.
Does anyone know where I can find this documentary with English (or Finnish) subtitles? My Swedish is way too rusty. I just finished reading Hannes Råstam's book about Thomas Quick, _Fallet Thomas Quick - Att skapa en seriemördare_ , and I'm just floored. It was an amazing read and I'm so sad Råstam passed away from cancer only a few years after the documentary aired and before his book was published. But he _did_ at least get to see the convictions (at least the first few, if not all) overturned. Damn that man had some passion; the gross injustice may have gone unchecked forever if it wasn't for Råstam's insistence to dig deep (well, the problems were pretty evident from the beginning and there were always many critics but the team around Quick used their authority to strike down any efforts and only someone who had read _everything_ about the cases was able to bring them down). Sture Bergwall's life is tragic and complicated and he has done some pretty heinous things in the past, but just because you don't approve of someone's persona doesn't mean it's okay to go along with (and advance) their obviously drug-fueled theater and convict an innocent person for crimes that have the real perpetrators still out there somewhere.
Sadly, I don't think so. But a translated version of Hannes Råstams book is on its way out. Highly recommended! But do beware - this story is so very weird that you will have a hard time believing everything. But it is true. Sadly. A shame for the Swedish judicial system.
I will try to read up on what software I will need and other practical issues. I am no professional translator but I am willing to give it a try since I think this scandal need to be exposed to the world.
Does someone know if there is an english (subtitled or speaking) model of the documentation? There are no Informations about Thomas Quick outside from Sweden.
I know your comment is 8 years old but here are a few articles in english anyway: www.theguardian.com/world/2012/oct/20/thomas-quick-bergwall-sweden-murder www.theguardian.com/books/2015/oct/22/the-strange-case-thomas-quick-swedish-serial-killer-psychoanalyst-created-him-dan-josefsson-review www.telegraph.co.uk/films/0/thomas-quick-extraordinary-story-swedish-serial-killer-never/
I am trying to understand his story and I don´ t get it all, but so far from what I got, I have got a weird thought that he might "be repeating a true story from his childhood" which he probably have oppressed to keep it out of the awareness; but his "body" knows as they say, and seeks for the right to be acknowledged. My weird suspicion is that his father maybe has really murdered the lttle child in front of T.Q and told him to "make up a story and take the blame" if the police finds out - >
I don’t know if you have seen this-available on Amazon-maybe this was the docu you saw though. www.amazon.com/Confessions-Thomas-Quick-Sture-Bergwall/dp/B01M5FB46Q
Turist I Tillvaron Självklart.
More people interested in getting this story just translated and emailed to them? I can't put subs on the clip but I can translate and send it via email.
