Torbran and especially Fiery Emancipation would be nuts. Now your damage based wipes do much more damage so there's more excess, which is then again increased as it is redirected.

A Combo card you didn't mention is Chandra's Incinerator. Non combat damage delt to a player will be mirrored by Chandra's Incinerator to a target creature. Drop an 8 damage spell on play get 8 to attack creature, target a 1/1, you get 7 attack to player, and an other 7 for creature. These cards can really go off together in the right situations......

I'm building 2 decks that would have this in mind; Jared Carthalion, the True heir loves red Boardwipes to pump himself up and Syr Carrah the bold. There might be some uses for Taraulf in a deck like that too.

the hammer's flavour is even better than people are thinking! Apart from only being wielded by worthy(legendary) people and flying back to you, when you fling it, it´s a Volcanic Hammer, same cost and damage, and when it's equiped it gives +3/+0, just like Loxodon Hammer

Hey, so I’m not sure about the exact rulings of this, but if you had a stuffy doll and a brash taunter down, and you just target one with let’s just say like some five damage spell. That would ping an opponent for five, and then toralf would let you redirect the excess damage to a different source. So then you redirect it to stuffy doll/brash taunter (the one you didn’t initially target) and deal four damage to it. This would then ping your opponent for four and let you redirect the damage back to stuffy doll/brash taunter. If this is correct, five damage would be turned into 15 damage. Just a thought

On Arena I have been using Toralf, Torbran and/or Fiery Emancipation and any DD to win. My personal best dmg was 1.2mil dealt right after my opponent went hard with Scutes landfalls.

Repercussion loves this guy. I've been running Torbran and started to make it heavier with damage-based boardwipes in a vain hope to have big damage to other players without solely relying on the X spells, and potentially remove creatures. He's strong enough to make me wonder if I want to put Torbran in the 99.

The excess damage isn't sent elsewhere. An equal amount is dealt in addition. This matters because of lifelink. Like with Firesong and Sunspeaker.

This with Dictate of the twin gods(ore any damage doublers) can get ridiculous real quick since The damage from The board wipe and the damage from the God are from different sources/instances(if it works the way I think) Example: Hit a 1/1 for 3 with say a bolt the 3 is doubled to 6 leaving 5 left over then Thor activates and deals the 5 to something else that damage will be doubled you could perhaps hit another 1/1 for 10 now with the excess after doubling being 18 then 34 ect. Until it finally nails a player.

This is gonna fit into my Jared Carthalion, True Heir deck so well! Being able to get even MORE value out of damage-based board wipes is glorious for it! Especially since you can utilize cards like Pariah to redirect damage away from Toralf and buff Jared even larger to swing in once the coast is clear! Blasphemous act and damage based board wipes are cool with this, but personally I want to have fun with having this and Firery Emancipation out, then bolting a 1/1 and chaining it to throw like 50 damage at an opponent's face!

Arcbond could work well for a instant damage source. Chain reaction can work depending on the field. Maybe ashling the pilgrim if you want to store excess mana.

If im reading this right toralf can trigger himself. so if you do say x = 10 on a 1/1 you can then chain that several times onto other 1/1's then hit face,

Um doesnt he just go essentially infinite with any damage doubling effect and well any burn spell and doesnt even need board wipes.....lightning bolt a 1/1 for 6, send 5 damage to another target which is then gonna get doubled and so on for the entire board until you decide to shock someone directly....

It's actually Super-Duper Death Ray trample, with a forking effect. Mogg Maniac is an inclusion I like for reckoner decks, and Arcbond. I also want to mention Selfless Squire, Deflecting Palm or Comeuppance. So far while I like some of the designs, I'm not thrilled with such large, almost instantaneous effects to end the game that sit in the command zone. That has me worried.

The front side of this is quite good, and the backside is at least flavorful if nothing else. I’ll probably never play Toralf because I dislike anything that reminds me of planewalker cards, but it’s a solid card.

what about a way to generete tokens on your own side? Because you can target anyone with the ability after the creature dies its just as effective to kill your own tokens as it is to kill everyone elses.

With Toralf and Fiery Emancipation in play, as long as your opponents control 2 X/1s, casting lightning bolt leads to doming a player for 69 damage.

Might put this in zacama Not only does toralf help hit players, something zacama struggles to do on their own, but the hammer makes them a 12/9 which is 2 hits or 1 with double strike AND my deck combos infinite mana so if I can give them haste, that throwing ability could get there
