love the energy of taika telling the interviewer that the interview has started, jus directing his own interview. also, mr interviewer guy definitely hadn’t realized ofmd was a romance. he freezes for just a sec when taika says “love story btwn two guys on a boat”. not a diss tho!! i just think it’s funny bc many fans say they’re introduced to the show as “gay pirate show” but still expected it to be queerbait but then the final two episodes are jus unexpectedly heartwrenching

A large portion of the SW fan base is already upset and feeling disaffected after the SW sequel trilogy and all the theatrics around those films (the original intent to direct the films Mad Lib style, the political messaging being secondary to the story, etc.), the bait and switch and issues with the Obi Wan series, etc that is seems very surprising to me that Taika Waititi would be chosen to direct the first major film release after the divisive prequels. I am wondering if Lucas film chose him because after all the division they think he will make a fun, mind candy pop corn flick that has no intention of being deep at all and will just be a fun film that brings fans together to laugh and have a good time like Thor Ragnarok. The potential problem I see is that Waititi loves to troll people. If SW was riding high. Like if Obi Wan had a decent audience score and a lot of fans didn't feel it was a bait switch. If fans were happy with the sequel trilogy. If Solo didn't bomb (and I do believe this was do to fan backlash for the TLJ), if people were happy with Kathleen Kennedy, and if Mando wasn't the only thing fans seem to be universally enjoying I would say Waititi coming in would be no issue. In the current state of the franchise of Waititi comes in with his normal self and says things like "I will smash your mythos!" Or something that is trolling I just don't see it going well.

Movie looks trash... Im not surprised though. I was hella disappointed by Dr Strange & the Mom. Definitely fits with Phase 4. Throw the whole phase out. I think Marvel reached its peak with Endgame. I made a vow to not watch any more Marvel movies until they get their ish together. I was really excited to see this when I heard Bale was starring in it. But then I heard he was even dumbed down to corny jokes. That sealed it for me. Marvel is going after a specific crowd that seems to like this stuff. Thats fine with me. But they butchered the hell out of all their characters to make room for new ones nobody asked for. SMDFH. Oh well. You get what you ask for. 🤷‍♂

Can Feige please enlist some indie director from Scandinavia for the next one, please? So that maybe we'll finally see the badass "I say thee nay" Viking Thor we fans always clamored for? Waititi had two movies, he proved that he doesn't get Thor. So do what you do best, Feige, change the gears and hire a new director that will maybe get things right.

If I had any doubt about Waititi being an individual who actually cares about anything other than himself, proves it in this video. Those of you who are saying that he's faithful to the comics... Have obviously never read them and are only going by what he's saying. Which is hilarious. He's more worried about telling jokes rather than making a decent film. Which makes sense. I wish Director Taika can go back and undo the casting mistake for Valkyrie. How in the world do you cast a mixed race black girl to place Valkyrie, an Old Norse, Viking mythology character who were servants of Odin that would swoop over the battlefield and choose half of the fallen warriors to take the Valhalla. Disney was just simply checking a box and cared less about some accuracy.
