Thor Meets Kira the Husky Puppy | We went to Alpena for July 4th

He LOVES digging! We have a spot in our yard by one of the trees he will dig in. It's also where I pile the leaves up for him in the fall. But I think he would love to have a sandbox like what they have where he could really go crazy with the digging.

For Thor I just drove him around and listened to the radio. He relaxed once we were in the car.

Oh yeah Thor has always ( well since he was about 1 and a half ) been able to be off leash under certain conditions. Between his separation anxiety and all the training we have done I really do not have to worry about him running off. So as long as we are away from traffic and other people that he might go say hi to that don't know him he's really good off leash.

I mean his channel names Thor unleashed so now its real

Thor Unleashed When did Thor get terrified of fireworks? Did it happen when he was a puppy?

@Justin Hundley it was when he was a year old during his second 4th of July. The neighbors were shooting off fireworks in their driveway and I think it was a motar went over their garage, into our backyard and detonated about 8ish feet above Thor. Ever since then he does not like loud noises. Before that though fireworks never bothered him.

That's awesome! Still just Thor and I here - well Bonzai too. I am I think ready to start looking for a brother or sister for Thor. I would like to rescue if I can. The biggest hurdle with that is Bonzai - need to find a husky who is good with cats and smaller animals which is hard to find.

@@ThorUnleashed I understand all of my huskies a untrustworthy with cats. We have 3 cats. So the cats are in another part of the house. Always separate from the huskies. Pearl is the best with the cats, I’ve had her since she was 5 weeks old. We believe she is part wolf. She looks and acts just like the wolves at the zoo, if that’s the case wolves are extremely sweet. One time before we reinforced our fence pearl snuck out and went out to the front porch where the cats were. We never caught her out front. We found all her stuffed babies laying by the porch. And the place in the fence where she snuck out. So funny. She would run back through the fence acting like she was out back the whole time. I guess she took her stuffed animals around to play with the cats. Lol . I will certainly let you know if I run across a husky that is good with cats. It seems more are homeless all the time. My daughter lives about an hour away in a larger city. About the size of Cleveland. They have a great animal shelter. My daughter helps with the catch and release program for feral cats. That shelter had 6 gorgeous huskies about 4 months ago. I was sure they would be adopted. But it’s just gotten bad for animals lately, there are three homeless cats that sleep on my porch. I need to catch them. I don’t mind getting them spayed & neutered. I think I’m eligible to have 2 spayed and neutered free. our vet gives us a discount. With 4 huskies and they are all rescues he helps us when he can. Wish I could start a husky rescue but my health is not helping me. I’m fighting it Charles. I just got back from my rheumatologist today. And we are going to keep trying to find the correct treatment. With 4 huskies I am tired but they give me a pass. I think they know when I need to nap. They are all good dogs like Thor. Huskies are definitely heaven sent. Kitties are too ! Take care ! And let me know how you are doing sometimes. Leslye

@@FourHuskyHomestead Thor is great with cats and really all small animals. He will catch squirrels in the yard but on bats them with his paws to try and play with them. Never bites them. But Thor grew up with Bonzai. I could get a puppy like I did with Thor but like you said there are so many huskies out there in shelters and rescues that need homes. If I can I'd like to go that route.

Thank you. I know it's been tough. I'm glad she was able to get out camping one last time. Even though she wasn't as active I think she still enjoyed being out with all her friends and family doing what she loved.
