Tbf, there is a lot of stuff that needs fixing, a lot of characters with way too good signatures like Lord Vraxx, Wu Shang and Cassidy. Just because you're not amazing at the game doesn't mean you can't recognise bullshit where you see it. Also, gold has a huge variation in skill. In 1390 - 1490, I could get by spamming strings on gauntlets. At 1580 I started running into semi competent enemies, people who actually had a decent idea of how to play the game, gauntlets players who could go grounded dlight recovery consistently and people who were doing dodge reads. Also I feel like sometimes your rank isn't representative of your skill as often you can get tilted in ranked and often lose a lot of elo. I sometimes drop to gold if I get pissed enough even though I know I'm definitely good enough to stay comfortably in plat.
