Now THIS is how Thor and Loki should fight (high stakes and deadly) - not as an after thought which is the MCU. Loki was terrible and awesome in this series (a deadly threat to be taken seriously)

IMO This is the best comic representation there is of Loki (outside the comics ofc) He utilize powerful magic (still mad at the MCU for making the Asgardians more science based), not to mention deceptive, seeing as all he did served a higher purpose. *Spoiler* I mean, he is the main villain of Season 1 being the mastermind behind almost all the threats the Avengers face, not to mention his attack, and purposefully loss to Asgard, all so that it would seem he was removed from the board, all to steal Odin's power, and rule Asgard.. ftw, really love the fact that the Odinforce was about to destroy all the 9 realms before Loki was stopped ^^
No, this is before he stole Odin's power.... the Odinforce is depicted as a blue-ish Aura/energy in this series, the purple/Black is Loki's... and he didn't obtain the Odinforce until after he broke free of the Isle of silence, which Odin sends him to moments after this battle ends.
Firstly, this isn't a movie, it's a cartoon series titled "The Avengers:Earth's mightiest heroes", and for the record, this is the 4th episode of the 1st season titled "Thor the mighty". the episode is just over 23min long, and this clip takes is made possible by putting together the action scenes which took place between 11:26-14:13. Futher more, it is even stated earlier in the episode by Balder that Odin is weak due to him being close to undertake the Odinsleep (Which is when Loki steals his power). Futher more, you clearly see Odin awake and well at 09:20, as Hugin & Munin brings him the news of Thor's arrival. Later in the episode 14:17 to be precise, we meet Odin again, as Loki is brought before him to answer for his crimes, whereas Odin clearly states that he is about to enter the Odinsleep, and that ASGARD WOULD'NT HAVE HIS POWER DO DEFEND IT DURING THIS TIME clearly showing that he himself still is in possession of his own power. and at 15:10 Odin clearly use his own power (The Odinforce, which is blue in this show, just as I stated to you earlier) to banish Loki. Loki, as I stated earlier isn't in control of the Odinforce until the end of the first season. More precisely S1E24 "This hostage earth" in which Thor is transported to asgard after destroying a norn stone, and Loki subsequently begins to conquer the nine realms. Futher more, we cannot be sure that it's Gungnir Loki wield during this battle, as Loki himself prefers staves/ Spears himself in the 616 universe, and (If I recall correctly) we never see Odin wield Gungnir during this series (His spear). As for Loki "not being able to stand up to Thor", I highly recommended that you read a few more comics, as you seem to be highly affected by Disney. The very reason the Avengers was formed, was due to the threat of Loki. in the comics, he fought them all at once(including Thor btw), having the upper hand in the first half of the fight, transforming clouds to dragons etc. The Silver Surfer even stated during his brief fight with Loki (which Loki threw to convince Surfer to battle Thor) that Loki was easily a planet buster. further more Loki easily used his powers to go around the cosmic powers of Galactus which prevented Surfer from leaving the earth. Loki has also turned Bor (Odin's father, himself having powers that rivals the Odinforce) into snow, which is a pretty impressive feat, as even without active magical shielding, Asgardians is nearly invulnerable to magic (unless its at skyfather lvl). he has also used his powers to escape a cell created using celestial technology, not to mention that every single instance Loki has fought/ been challenged by Dr. Strange, Loki has come out on top. I clearly recall an instance when Strange called on the power of agamotto to banish Loki, and Loki simply appeared before him seconds later..... So Loki isn't the pushover Disney has made him look like. Though it is true that Thor tend to get the upper hand in most of their encounters, but this is mainly due to 1 Thor has the insane invulnerability to magic that i stated earlier (Which nearly all of Loki's main offensive abilities comes from), not to mention that Thor is a warrior bred to fight, were as Loki is primarily a manipulator and a trickster, having plans within plans that takes eons to unfold. Not to mention that all of Thor's physical attributes are so far above Loki, and most of the 616 universe that it's insane, so loosing to someone with this strength, and has his combat experience isn't exactly something to hold against him. but then again, doesn't do this types of fights, unless he has an ulterior motive, which he in this case had.... not to mention that HE WANTED TO LOSE, to seemingly be taken off the chessboard, so that he could manipulate all of the following in season 1. And please, don't be rude. especially when you are wrong ;)
@Lord Jay wrong. Get your facts straight before talking. This is base level Loki with his eldritch, asgardian and rune magic usage. Plus his frost giant physiology. Odin Force is a whole different ball park of power. Get some knowledge before talking
Thor and Loki were both raised in same circumstances. Still, Loki chose this path because of him being a frost giant child, alone among Asgardians. But, even then, Thor has always been gentle to his brother.

Loki's magic has been downplayed rather in the films as has his evilness; they may be missing a trick (pun intended). Maybe in Ragnarok we'll see the true god of mischief.
Twirlyhead are you kidding me? Loki was manipulative af in Thor 1. He can be real cunning if he wants to (sadly, Thor 1’s the best we’ve seen of the trickster god)
+Pirate .A Kirkland blaming tom?for what? if tom hadnt been so brilliant at bringing loki to life and making him more than another 2D movie character loki wouldnt have this big a fanbase. or are they blaming him because loki and tom got a lot of fans after thor1?
i agree they really downplayed his magic especially at infinity war but i dont think they downplayed his evilness at least not based on the origin story they gave tom to portray as loki. mcu loki was a victim of abuse and neglect while comics loki is closer to the myth loki which is for the most part (and before odin's homewrecking) malicious in his tricks and mischief.

@Rafael Lopez its amazing. Marvel and DC have been around since before WW2 and people somehow think that comics are copying anime/manga. Super man was battling the Anti-Monitor when goku's big bad was the pilaf gang. Somehow people think the bruce tim superman is the highest version of him just because he's prpbably the most loved.
I like Loki like this, but I also like when he works with Thor, he's best when he's unpredictable as that's how Loki in mythology is and how Loki should be.
Like their Spiderman. Unlike the past 2 Spidermen the MCU's Spiderman is weaker. Mcu made his suit into technology even though he is still not at the strength of Tobey nor Andrew. And even if you look at the other characters like Thanos the mcu made him more weaker and cannot fly. In the comics and cartoons Thanos can fly but here at the MCU he cannot idk why.
That's why it made like DC better than Marvel because DC doesn't change their version in the comics and cartoons nor in the movies. But mcu makes their characters more weaker than they used to be.
The aspect that I favor the most about the show (aside from the fact that it is very faithful towards the source material;etc) is the fact that it presents my favorite media representations of the characters who are from the comics and presents my favorite media representation of the entire marvel universe. For example, This show presents my favorite media representations of Thor, Loki, Amora the Enchantress, Skurge the Executioner, Ulik, Odin, Sif, Beta Ray Bill, Heimdal(who is actually white in this adaptation; Unlike the stupid MCU) & the other Asgardian Characters who are from the comics. Does anyone else agree with what I had said?
***** 1. Are you able to concur towards the fact that the Avengers EMH version of Loki is the best media representation of Loki outside of the comics? 2. Do you also agree towards the fact that the EMH version of Loki is much more intelligent, cunning, manipulative, & power than the MCU version of Loki?
Emmanuel Asika 110% Agree with you, Thor's my favorite Superhero and this episode along with this show did a really good job of making him comics accurate, this is the best media Thor hands down Chris Hemsworth portrayal is so lackluster and downplayed in every way it aggravates me so much, Thor deserves more respect than that he's one of Marvel's highest selling characters historically in terms of comics.
no...although it is closer to myth loki than mcu loki but still i like mcu loki better....possibly because his more relatable and its easier to sympathise with a villain who is a victim of circumstance and horrid parenting than a villain who in the end basically created and assured his negative circumstance and upbringing
Wondering in around his face look someing like scar marks probably my theory once time Loki was fighting against breasts snatch on face him remind him improve everyone he mistreatment and improve , to match against his foes.
Not really, though Graham McTavish and Sam Witwer do sound alike. I honestly want to hear Sam voice Loki mainly because I think he could emulate Graham and Tom Hiddleston.

This is my Loki. The guy is a beast. It's cool that tumblr girls now have someone to beat their pussy to, but MCU's version is pretty unintimidating and weak. Everyone says how The Avengers is great, but nobody mentions how Loki doesn't even have a decent fight against Hulk, even though he is physically capable of doing it.
