Sometimes the "yellow mustard" non-polar capacitors go bad as well; They don't typically short circuit but they can leak DC voltage a little or even go open circuit.

It was a pleasure to work on it as well. It would have been nice to have the axial capacitors to keep the nostalgic feel, but it works again!
