I simply can’t imagine this band with any other vocalist than Jacob. Honestly one of the most, if not the most, unique voices I’ve ever heard in my entire life
It's crazy this dude was the guitar player originally and they lost their singer and he stepped in not knowing how to really scream. A few years later the dude is one of my favourite vocalists. Awesome!
I thought this was a classic Thornhill joke when they announced it... but here we are with a full album with vocals only and it's amazing. It's crazy how much ambiance is in there that isn't noticeable in the full mix.
they might have just added for this version of the album.

@@petrknedlik Lol coming in super late, if you check some track to track analysis online of popular songs you'll see that there is a shitton of reverb even in tracks where it isnt noticeable in the final mix!!
When artists release isolated pieces from their album it really shows you the layering that goes into their music. All the small vocal backings that you usually wouldn't hear in a full mix.
Don't know how to change the URL to only the timestamp but here's that amazing clean part ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xZVtudvZmsg.html
This album was already god tier but this elevates it to a whole nother level. Also Jacob not only has one of the best voices in this scene, but the music industry as a whole IMO
Where we go when we die is simply unbelievable. I don't think I've ever heard lyrics as devastating as these. They tear through the very fabric of existence and capture the absurdity of death and belief. Just... devastating...
15:00 onward to the end of the song is my favourite part of the entire album. So nice to hear those backing vocals on the left channel louder because that's what captures my attention most out of everything else going on.
This is so haunting. I think this is one of the only bands I could sit through an entire record just listening to vocals. There is so much you can't really pick out in the originals but are amazing. Like the monotone singing in Nurture just gave it a different feel. Also, I never realized how nasty his screams could be.
i come back to this everytime i'm stressed and need to escape myself for a while. Pure euphoria when i put my headphones on and world slips away and its just music. Fucking phenomenal vocals
I was looking for someone who knew the rando womans voice just thrown in the album. Loved it and would love to hear more on the next album like Make Them Suffer does it. I think his voice would pair well.
This album was one of the best, if not the best of 2019. I look forward to hearing new songs from them but I also prefer them to take time to make quality material, like they did until now.
15:17 This build up leading into when it drops gives me goose bumps EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Ughhh pure RAW talent both vocals and instrumentally wise. Currently praying to the gods, that these guys are balls deep into their next album ready to blow our minds once again.
I am just so thankful for an official isolated vocal album from ANY band! Making it Thornhill is just making a great thing better! Thanks for releasing this.
Just finished the whole album and I literally cried 3 times, Jacob's voice is truly astonishing, my favorites were views from the sun, red summer, lily and the moon, all the light we don't see, and where we go when we die, and I genuinely don't know what to say more than that but damnnnn I fucking love you guys.
Fuck, I didn't expect to listen to the whole thing, but I just couldn't help myself! I'm commenting now as Im in the final minute of play and I just gotta say this was one fucking awesome experience! I don't think I've ever listened to isolated vocals before but the vocalist for Thornhill is probably one of the top 3 most talented in the genre. So glad I checked this out and thank you for sharing!
Can't wait to see all the drummers on RU-vid,go ham on this song post links here please. It would be awesome to see someone play a full drum through non stop for 35 minutes
Honestly favourite track off this album is Lily and the moon but every track off this album is absolutely PHENOMINAL but the vocal mixing in the chorus of Lily and the moon with the slightly out of time lower octave just added so much for me
Wow, although I’m not a huge fan of every aspect of his vocals I am blown away by the maturity of this band. First a instrumental version of the album and then the vocal only version. There would be a lot of “BIG BANDS” that would never release a vocals once version. BIG props to you guys, keep up the great work. 👌
I'm gonna binge this again, then I'm gonna binge TDP full album stream, then probs go back to this because just wow, can't believe how good this actually is! ^_^ Took us all by surprise I bet!
