Floor 21 years young here (born 1981). There is a short documentary called "The klas" (the class) where Floor is mentioning her early career. The presenter then also accompanies her to Finland for witnessing the famous NW performance in Tampere 2015 (excluding the complete show, including some talk with her parents and a few nice words from NW). @@bodresz It is actually a Dutch TV show rwhere former classmates have a reunion in a studio 'classroom'. The show is called 'De reunie' This episoe with Floor in it was recorded in 2015. Of course they all speak Dutch but there are good English subtitles. It is a must see for Floor an Nightwish fans. Floor's parents are also present and it is just beautifuyl to hear Floor speak in her native language telling all about herself, her struggles, how she came to Nightwish and what it means to her to be the singer of Nightwish.
Oh wow, I recognize this performance. Didn't realize it was that long ago. This was the first time I ever saw Floor. Was really impressed by her performance. It was around this time I "discovered" Within Temptation. Somehow Nightwish stayed under my radar. In 2014 I saw Floor again in classical program. She sang an aria of Puccini. She was introduced as the leadsinger of Nightwish. Me: I need to check out this band. Not long after Ghost Love Score appeared on my time line on RU-vid. The rest is history 😉
Same here with Within Temptation. I was in Germany to learn the language in the early 2000's. That time I have watched an anime on Sat1 and MTV called "X". And the main theme song was Mother Earth by Within Temptation. 💝
Floor joined After Forever when she was only16 years old. It is now 2023 and Floor was actually longer in After Forever than she has been in Nightwish!!! Floor was devastated when After Forever broke up she never wanted it to end and suffered a burnout soon after the After Forever broke up.

I think you might enjoy "My Pledge of Allegiance", another legendary song from the early era of After Forever. Their first two albums do indeed have this dark, doomy atmosphere which we could call "gothic", I think. The Goddess herself, however, was known to strongly dislike everything associated with the goth subculture, so uttering the g-word in her presence would not be something I'd recommend, unless one really wished to be sent directly to Valhalla.😇 The main composer of the first two albums was Mark Jansen, who at the moment this video was filmed had already been kicked out of the band and would go on to form Epica a year later. After his departure, AF switched to a heavier, more progressive sound. Very few of their concerts were documented, and almost none of them in good quality, so the mind-blowing performances of young Floor Jansen and her awesome band live on mostly as empty memories in the minds of the lucky ones who were there. @@bodresz 👍Yeah, I'm trying to compete with Gabriel Bardac of Nightwish, posting Walls of Text like this.🤣 I find it strange and mildly frustrating that, although Floor is hugely popular today, most people seem to either don't know or don't care about the first 15 years of her career. After Forever was not some kind of obscure, underground band, they were pretty big and well know back in the day, although not commercially successful. I still mourn the untimely demise of this awesome band, ruined by personal issues and a really bad contract with the record label.
She was/is definatelly a beast in After Forever, then in Star One (Arjen Lucaddens project, later Ayreon), then Nightwish. She can reach out to everyone in a different way. My parents and I were at Nightwish concert at the end of 2022. 3 persons, 3 different experiences. But I always say Floor is not = Nightwish. Sadly most of the current fans on RU-vid often just talking about Her. I think it is one of the reasons why Marko Hietala left the band. It just got way too Floor-centered ... And what a surprise Marko is touring with not other then Tarja Turunen now. Coincidence? :D Oh and also Tuomas promised more guitar solos for old fans (haha, for real -> For Emppu, cause He felt way behind His bars/skills).
