You are literally strongest dude in the gym. And even stronger if we account for your pound-to-pound strength. Your level of humility despite this massive strength is awe-inspiring just as much as your bench press
I clicked right away soon as I saw the notification. This is something that we need, seeing the Family, Benching, and Fishing. Hoping and praying for the consistency of Mr. Long. 😤💪
I was looking for motivation for chest Monday and I started looking for your channel but I couldn't remember the name. So I put fitness, family and fishing in the search bar and found the channel again lol. Greetings from Uruguay, I really enjoy the videos!
Very strong. I’m 54 years old And benched 405 for the first time at 53 years old last year. Recently I did 355 for long pause for three reps. I also Deadlifting 600 pounds two weeks ago for the first time
Hey man, you haven’t uploaded for a while but that hasn’t stopped me from being motivated by you and your routine. I’m at a record high of 250, I weigh 165 but aim to decrease my weight to around 160. Hope everything’s well and am happy to be blessed with another upload
Hey Long, been a sec since I commented. Your family life/ living in general is so rewarding to see.👍 Glad to see you back on grind. 👊Thanks brother may you and yours stay healthy. ✌ best regards...
Teach all the neighborhood kids the importance of lifting when they get older . U could train them to be powerlifting record holders at their age . Such a monster backyard. Is it yours ? Dock the boat n stuff
Wow that stuff you were saying about being motivated by others getting stronger was so wholesome and real. Do you think there’ll be a point where you stop lifting and what do you think would most likely stop it?
Hey man I just want to say your videos are entertaining to watch and sit through, you’re incredibly strong. I looked up your program on google and can’t wait to start it tomorrow. I’m gonna be doing wed/fri/sun instead of the mon/wed/Friday
No sir no interest in gaining weight to lift more. My body likes being between 150-155. I’ve been at this weight for decades. I’m not really focused on competing, just staying healthy. Getting stronger is a direct result of consistency and I am grateful for that, but I have no interest in gaining weight or taking supplements or using equipment to get stronger. I’m honestly just a recreational lifter who enjoys bench pressing.
Hey Long, do you mind revealing what gym you work out at? I’m in a different state but I’ve watched your videos for years and have successfully been doing a slightly tweaked version of your program. I have always wanted to lift with you so that would be an honor and experience for me to do on a vacation.
I think it would work just fine depending on your work load. If you are trying to improve your ohp and bench at the same time it might work against you.
@@allfornothing4958 yes that will work just fine. Do you deadlift very often? I found that ohp really tires your lower back out also so try to have some rest days between DL and ohp. But I love ohp it’s a true test of strength good luck 👍🏼
Hey man what do you think of fatter bench pads? My max is 245 but recently the owner of my gym swapped all the pads, I went in an struggled with 225. Not sure if it's mental or I need to adjust form to it
I’ve benched on a few fat pads during competition. I was not used to the thickness or width of it and was unable to get into position each time, killing my strength.
After dealing with covid. I notice when you're pushing up with the heavier weights, you're keeping the bar very level now. Before you would be just slightly off.
When am I gona see you walk around the gym with your gang gang, extorting protection fees from the members? you definitely have the mafia boss vibe going down
uplifter.... do you do the same weight for a while month and then move up or do you do the same weight until you can complete all sets and then move up??
If you’re on the program, then it’s the same weight for a month then move up a little. Once you determine your new 1rm, you can recalculate all of the sets.
Mad to be benching on the rack bar and bench that is not the best and killing it Imagine what he could have with an er rack elekio bar and a elite fat pad
Been benching for a while now and I love benchpress, I did stretch a muscle around my collar bone when throwing disc golf last year, and every time I try to bench it gets tight and pulls on my neck. Ever had something similar / idea on how to go on about it? Spoke to doctor but he kept telling my it was stretched, I just don't know how long it's gonna be like that. Anyway love your vids, especially now as I can't push myself on it.
Real question why don’t you ever lock out? Sorry you probably get asked this a lot. Also, have you ever experienced shoulder/rotator cuff pain from all the benching you do. I don’t watch you a lot but I’ve still think I’ve never seen you do anything besides bench.
I try to avoid locking out when doing multiple reps to avoid joint fatigue from all of the heavy reps. No I don’t experience much shoulder/RC pain, but will over stretch my chest once in a while or kink my neck.
