I weight about exactly your weight at 5'9. I do sets of 245 on a leverage machine around10 reps. So free weight like that maybe around 250. That's impressive. How tall are you?
In 20+ years going to the gym, never seen anyone sub 155 lb bench 400+ Attended a few local power lifting competitions in socal and the 155 lb weight class never sniffed 400+ either, those guys prolly walk around at 170+ after the 24 hr cut too 😂
You do you, who cares about "hogging" the bench it's a problem at most gyms, everybody has to wait, why sacrifice your workout/routine just because someone else doesnt want to switch things up that day Ive been the guy waiting and I just go do something else (I'll start with Incline Bench and wait for this guy to finish, if he still isnt done I'll pull from my list of 20 other chest exercises I could do that day with that volume), if it was really that important to me (and I was trying to strictly Powerlift, for exmaple) I'd find another gym (like a Powerlifting gym) or go another time Or, if I really cared that much I'd just ask him to not record me and/or blur my face... but personally I'd probably never end up asking, I'll just do something else Also, dude did explain how this isnt his normal gym he just happened to stop by here to get a session in... different story if dude is hogging the one and only bench in the entire town 5 days a week, but I doubt that's the case. It happens. Especially in a small gym.
Aside from all that, dude is not being douchey about things at all how is anyone mad 😂 Different story if guy was blasting gear, had his own juke box, was screaming and slamming the weights, being loud and obnoxious, etc.... but he's not. Guy seems pretty humble to me.
