Thanks so much for taking the time to try out Those Who Rule! It looks like I have some more testing to do on your monitor resolution (or if you went windowed mode), as those backgrounds should be covering the whole screen!! Regardless I appreciate the time you took to make this video, it was great to watch through.
@@DozenMarks It'll initially launch on Steam/Steam deck, but depending on how that release goes I'm definitely looking into porting to consoles. Particularly the Switch!
how does everonye keep finding these demos? Warside, Years of Division and now Those Who Rule. so many games similar to Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. I love it!
@@ziljin I spend a lot of time hunting for games 😆. I have so many more great game that will possibly fly under the radar! Stay tuned for more! Great to see you enjoying the games
@@doesntmatter6736 Totally get that! Fire Emblem sets a high bar for character attachment. But hey, maybe this game is the slow burn type-you never know which character might surprise you later on. 😉
Fire Emblem is amazing, but I sure would love to play a game with a more serious tone. That whole school thing from 3H and the goofyness from Engage kinda set me off a bit, even though the combat itself was really solid and the games were fun.
That's part of what led me to create this game! The over the top anime is always a bit of a turn-off for me. TWR will have a more serious/gritty tone to the story, and it's more focused on political intrigue rather than the "big bad vs chosen one".
@@STAX-1-1precisely! And as an added bonus the game seems to be able to tune the darker and more realistic aspects just fine, without oversteering on that direction.
@@saulofontoura Exactly my friend. I’ve always preferred the more gritty and darker toned games. So this game is something I’m really looking forward to on release!
Really like the video, and played the demo 3 times already, sadly biggest down side of it there no way to replay stages or just train on the side if that was implemented to game id be all over it for now im just really want the game to successed.
@@przemysek2511 The dev is really active. They’ll most probably respond to this too. Thanks so much for watching and enjoying the video! I’d personally like to replay levels .. another video I made, did this and made going back to past missions worth while. Untill this dev gets back, check out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M5QW6isbtk8.htmlsi=2UrgIesseMSUtTMq
@STAX-1-1 oh Druidstone yeah played it back in the day nice Tactic rpg definitely on the hidden side cuz didnt get all that much attention but over all great game
So just Fire Emblem but with hexes instead of squares, and more seinen character portraits? How is it for iron man, do you get a lot of recruits? Items go to the storage when units die, or are those lost with the unit? Sounds good, I will check it out, thank you.
Hey dev here, all good questions! The cast will be ~25-30 units with not all being auto-recruited. Items are currently lost with the unit when they die, but I may change that before release.
@@TrueKivan very good questions! I’ve contacted the dev, who will hopefully answer these as I’ve only played the prologue. There’s a demo too. Link in description! Lots more games like this, coming to the channel! Thanks for watching 💙
@@thosewhorule oh wow amazing, I didn't expect to summon a dev! I really like the premise of branching paths where you get different maps and/or units depending on your choices or if certain conditions are met, like Der Langrisser on SNES! This is one area it have Fire Emblem beaten and it's not even close. 25-30 units might be a little lowish for iron man depending on the lenght of the game, if you add an option - a toggle so people can decide - whether those items are send to convoy or lost it will offset that. Also depends on the game economy... in short I should play the demo before commenting more! I already wishlisted the game, will play the demo on the weekend. Adding the option to send items to the convoy might be a good idea regardless, to encourages letting units go, modern Fire Emblem GBA hacks do this if they are intended to be played with iron man, as items tend to be scarce and losing them on top of losing the unit might be too much for most people (it is for me).
@@TrueKivan Haha I'm always lurking around channels that post about the game. That's fair, and in TWR you also can upgrade and put "refinements" on weapons that give abilities, and some of those can be very unique. I'll definitely look into implementing that, thank you for the suggestion! I hope you enjoy your time with the demo!
@@thosewhorule sounds good, customising weapons is a good way to add even more flavor to the units. As long as it's not ridiculously convoluted to keep track of everything like in FE Conquest having to juggle 20 different active skills and passives, but from I have seen you know how to not overdo it. I will find out for myself this weekend then, so I might be back with some feedback. Take care and thank you for interesting conversation.
