Paul’s book made it into our local news because he finally confirmed that “ticket to ride” is about my hometown! It was rumoured for years that it was about my hometown, so we’re all glad that there’s finally confirmation about the song!

Thank you so much for doing videos on these Paul McCartney and Beatles items as they become available...your videos are always very well done and I must confess that while I watch them I am also admiring your beautifully (or should I say "Beatlefully") decorated room. I wish I knew Paul McCartney and could arrange for you to meet and interview him...that is something I would love to see...:)

I just got that book and I absolutely love it! So many stories in this that are just incredible. Love the stories for Do it Now and On My Way to Work. So glad he included lesser known songs like that 🙂

I loved ur excitement. I can’t get the perfect time to actually open mine to be alone & cry happy & memory tears. I’m like u I don’t want it to end. The anticipation of this & Get Back has made me feel like I use to anticipating their LPS & singles in my teens. U r so cute. Love ur smile. Makes me soo glad young ppl r loving the Beatles still. I saw them live in Concert in 1966 STL @ the age of 14yo with my sister 12yo. My parents drove us 5 hrs bc AA was on strike. We went to London in 1968. But I couldn’t find much, but did visit Carnaby street. I’ve had the one leasure of seeing Paul 3 times. Last time 3 miles from my house in Arlington Tx. Still a BEATLEMANIA fan at 66yo. Something told me I had to see this tour. I pray it’s not his last due to COVID etc. I’m taking my oldest 11yo grndson to see the Fab Four nxt month here in Tx. I love being part of BEATLE HISTORY as an original fan. I believe my grndson will love my important keepsakes over the yrs, which gives me great pleasure. Keep up ur great work. GET BACK IS ONLY A FEW DAYS AWAY. 🙏🥰☺️❤️🎵

That concert you said you attended in St. Louis was when Paul finally agreed with the others that it was time to stop touring. I guess he hated playing in the rain.

@@nmbcat Yes it’s soooo sad. They probably got more wet than my sister & I. It made me feel even more lucky that I barely got to see them on tour. My girlfriend had seen them in Dallas 2 yrs earlier actually winning a contest tkt on a local radio station KAKC. She traded tkts with her older sister the night b4 the winner was announced. Timing is amazing…🎵❤️🎵

I also wanted to point out that "In Spite Of All The Danger" has the song writing credit of "McCartney-Harrison" only because they were so young and inexperienced when they made that record way back in 1958... that Paul thought that George should get a song writing credit because he came up with the guitar solo in the song. It is the only time that George was given a song writing credit for coming up with a guitar solo for one of Paul's or John's songs during their time together. And throughout the recording industry - a guitarist does not get a song writing credit for guitar solos in songs. But it is very cool... that there exists one song that has the "McCartney-Harrison" song writing credit. One other thing... the story goes that the lads were taking turns having that 1958 record disc for a week at a time. But John "Duff" Lowe, who played piano on it, ended up keeping the record for about 25 years. Paul ended up getting it back when Lowe decided to sell it in 1981.

Hi Katie. I really enjoy your enthusiasm. It is fun to watch you talk about a subject that you love so much. Here is some more information about "Golden Slumbers" in a quote from Paul McCartney that I read back in 1978 (I think this quote came from Paul shortly after "Abbey Road" was released). "I was at my father's house in Cheshire messing about on the piano and I came across an old tune 'Golden Slumbers' in a song book of Ruth's (his step-sister). And I thought it would be nice to write my own 'Golden Slumbers'." "I can't read music so I put my own tune to it. I liked the words and kept most of them - then added some of my own." Here are the original words from the Thomas Dekker poem written in 1603: "Golden slumbers kiss your eyes, Smiles awake you when you rise; Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry, And I will sing a lullaby, Rock them, rock them, lullaby.". Dekker's poem was titled "Cradle Song" and it was first set to music by W.J. Henderson in 1885.

I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on it! I myself have read Vol. 2 (I started backwards, don't ask, haha), and have just started Vol. 1. I agree with you, there's a very cozy feel to it, one that I haven't gotten while reading a book in a long time. It's just a fantastic book, in my opinion. :-)

Hello Jackie. Thanks for this video. You are really good at showing us Beatleful things. I think the word you were looking for early in the video may have been “intimate” or “intimate feeling” like Paul is confiding in you.

Is there an audio book version? I heard Paul reading excerpts on the radio and found his voice (like George's) very relaxing. : )
