as someone who lives vicariously through y'all content creators, as long as Y'ALL are seeing the product as fun and valuable and see the fun in it, it translates over. i dont have the money to buy these insane products, but i love when they come out to see y'alls reactions to them or seeing y'all pull a chase card from a new set drop. love the channel, keep doing you brotha

Great video! I'm in it completely for the collecting, I hate selling cards because I get so attached to them (although I do end up selling if I replace a card with a nicer one or first edition or whatever). I try my best to not notice the hypebeast, stonk flipping, whatever you want to call it side because it really kills the fun and childhood innocence for me. I think these are pretty overpriced. I'd feel like it makes sense in the 300-500 range but 1000 and 1300 makes me feel like they're catering more towards people treating it like an investment and the subsect of people like you that truly want the card and will pay that are the minority. Since they're newly printed in the current world where people understand they are collectible they don't hold the weight of a over 1000 pricetag to me vs the vintage stuff. Back then we were a bunch of kids goofing around with cards like in the anime having those cards survive without looking like they went through the washing machine is a damn miracle and it justifies the premium so I have no problem saving up and paying it to finally own the cards I always wanted as a kid. Now modern printings will go straight from pack to slab as an investment and it just doesn't hold the same weight. Also the bump to 1300 seems pretty silly. You already had it set as a somewhat silly premium price and now you're going to tack on 300 dollars because you saw the secondary market on the first release and want a piece of that? Seems kinda shitty, idk. Overall I've just ignored these because they clearly aren't for me but they do serve as a jump off point for the broader issue of collecting cards for the joy of it vs collecting as an investment. I could talk about that for days, lol.

Haha, good point. The same people complaining about the $20 of silver will turn around and happily pay the same $1300 value for pieces of cardboard.

Third will most likely be Dark Magician Girl they are pretty pricey considering it's just silver and with everything going on in the world right now the third one might be around 1,500 or more

I do wonder what the 3rd card will be. To me red-eyes seems the most plausible but I feel like the demand on RE would be about comparable to DM which IDK if it would be worth it at that point.

I had an argument with a instagram yugioh content creator guy and agreeing about 1.3k is ridiculous BUT I would buy it for 500 or 1k. and he said its still not worth that price and isn't worth it, konami sucks blah blah and said its only metal not even worth much. and I responded saying, bro yugioh cards are the same thing, they cardboard and we spend hundreds to thousands to some singles lol and he said it still sucks and pulled the "hey do you" sentence lmfao yet he and every collector spend just as much on random cardboard lol at the end of the day, these are collectables and prices are based on what ur willing to spend on them or people selling them for... sure its scummy on konami's part for wanting a piece of the pie in the secondary market but hey.. some collectors will buy it and some wont like it. win win, nothing to lose if u dont buy it lmfao

I bought the platinum blue eyes to flip, 3x profit in a week. The DMG isn't flippable at all hence why nobody is buying them. It was abit of an unknown for the blue eyes. But now people see their value nobody is buying. The value is determined on supply & demand, its pretty easy. Also the fact that its called the "platinum" series but made out of silver is just misleading.

I expect the 3rd to be exodia head or red eyes (hoping for red eyes)

I have to disagree about you saying no one will want to take a loss and sell it under cost. This thing is a big chunk of change for a lot of people and we are in a recession that's only getting worse. I'm sure there's a bunch of people who bought it thinking it'll be blue eyes 2.0, and when times get rough, they'll sell regardless of the loss. It happens all the time. This item is no different.

To be fair i dont think were complaining cuase its a cash grab cause clearly 3k copies of this at 1300 is in the millions theres no doubt about it. My gripe is why 1300 and not 1k when its less sought than blue eyes, and the economy is in worse state than 2021. Its been more than a week since its release and theres still copies available on the site whereas at 6 minutes of the blue eyes release the site crashed and there were copies been sold on ebay for 2-3k..

Konami cares too much about their stonks. Obviously shouldn’t be $20, but the $300 price increase along with them severely increasing the price of the English Kaiba case makes me not want these items.

Oh sht its already out 😂 I really dislike the way they look and it feels like a big scam/cash grab by Komoney for a quick buck but it is a cool collectible for big collectors
