PLEASE NOTE: This is not a ‘tech’ channel, but simply a show-and-tell. It is not designed to give advice and support on vacuum tube amplifiers but to show what I get up to each week in the workshop.
I deliberately keep tech talk to a minimum, or at least to a point where it’s understandable to the casual viewer. There are other channels more suited to that level of detail.
I do not do reviews, either paid or unpaid. My opinions are entirely my own and do not represent those of others.
All comments are welcome but those deemed unhelpful, rude, inappropriate, or unsavoury will be reviewed and possibly censored.

Great edition, I stopped by and said hello at Birmingham, I have a PR18 that needs a service. By sheer coincidence I reckon it’s an early one as very similar to the one you have on the bench in this edition ❤ I’ll be in touch soon

That valve at the end is bonkers! I had a good show, loads of people. I didn't get a chance to really look around myself. ...still trying to tidy my workshop after the mad dash to get things ready.

Why did you move on from orange drop to the smaller red caps, and what brand/type are they?

I didn't like the sound of ODs, so originally went to Jupiter Yellows which gave the tone I was after. Then, I discovered the brown Panasonics which sound identical and have a smaller footprint...a win on all fronts!

@@RiftAmps Ok, thanks! I'm using Jupiter Yellows as well, but as you say they take some real estate, especially in a Princeton. Where do you get your Panasonic from? RS, mouser...?

It is great to see you still going and don't feel guilty. The stuff you make will, I hope, last half a century or more with a bit of TLC and the odd replacement thermionic vacuum tube. How long will an average iPhone last I wonder? Oh, and regarding the handle, you are making the mistake of trying to apply logic and common sense (which sadly is in fact uncommon) to these situations. As a professional electronics and firmware designer of 30+ years do not even get me started...

I personally think Brexit has been a ( deliberately) wasted opportunity…….also think there’s a lot more going on globally which is making everything ( deliberately) awkward? But I couldn’t agree more about supporting homegrown talent and business! Glad you’re one of the success stories Chris well done!
