I have my 590's set up (toe in) pretty much identical to the way you did after playing around with a lot of orientations, for the same reason you did. I am using them in a 2 channel music only system. I am fortunate in that my room is excellent for bass; The 590's F3 is around 20Hz and I do run them full range. I added a Sub550p for grins when they were $199 and ended up running it (purposely) out of phase to kill a 50ish Hz room mode peak and the system sounds better than ever (My stereo integrated amp does not have any room correction built in) . REW led me in that direction and it worked well. Love your setup
That’s awesome. My room has a big bump at 83hz so I can’t play full range 🙁. I have a newer video with my setup now, but that will be upgrading this weekend, and even more coming soon 😬.
*Just ordered a 590 for center* **Sorry I lost my train of thought around **17:30**. I wanted to say that I would pull 420w max peak from the wall, with the crossovers at 80hz. Since adding the 7000x amp and having my fronts at 100hz and all others at 120hz (now all 120hz), I pull 240w max peak at reference (42w idle). That's not a lot of power for 7 speakers. I had shown this online and was questioning if external amps were really needed because my AVR was handling the power just fine. That all changed when I added the 7000X and heard the improvement.**
Thanks for posting your thoughts on this line. Sounds like you think each step up in the series sounds better. Do you think the 590’s do as well with the midrange as the 570s and 580s? Since the 590’s have bigger woofers I was wondering how they compare in the midrange.
@@andrewskaterrr ok thanks I currently have 2 530’s and 2 550p subs and thinking about moving the 530’s to surrounds and getting 570 or 580’s for the mains but now you got me considering the 590’s too Ha! My wife won’t be happy;). Since you are one of the few that have all 4 models you should do a sound comparison- you would get a ton of views I bet! Ha! Thanks again!
@@TheProspectVideo So I'd definitely move the 530s to rear, and if you want the best match get the 570s up front (since the horns are the same size). If you want better sound, go 580/590. The 570s sound great as they are, but they can't compete with the big brothers. So good luck lol. Eh I think a sound comparison wouldn't work too well, I'd rather to measurements, but I also am lazy and don't want to move my speakers lol.
Great review, I use 2 520's for center with mono splitter to the inputs and using a Parrasound HCA-600, my 590's are powered by a Hafler XL-600, I feel that you need to have better amp powering the front sets the backs and Dolby Atmos are running off the Denon Reciver
I got the 580s for Christmas and am pairing then with dual RSL Speedwoofer 10Ss and am loving them. Due to space constraints I have the 580s sitting atop the Speedwoofers, similar to how your rears are set up. Hot tip regarding the rattling: adjust the rubber feet upward over a half inch on the front feet only and you'll not only eliminate the rattling but also experience better sound from the speakers.
My experience as well... each model up sounds more open, more full. All great though! I crossed my horns like that as well. The dispersion on them is different than dome style tweeters
Ya, horns have worse off-axis response than domes, which helps with reflections, but makes off-axis listening worse. It definitely helped solve the center image off axis.
Hmmmmmm!? I have been contemplating how to set up my new entertainment center & I like that idea of trying to keep the stand w/ the tv clean-er & get a small corner stand to put the 2 consoles & a power conditioner/ups backup! I like the block lol I was looking around ur house thinking… he makes good use of stuff 😆 seal up the end grain a bit then paint them a similar black as the stand badda bing baby! (Buy some little rubber stick on feet😃) I think you could build a small shelf w/2x triangle supports that just fit on either side of the sub, that way the sub can be slide out if need be & the 530s will be mounted in their own world! Oh man as the vid goes on lol I also have a huge opening & I’m trying to figure out what to do.. acoustic curtains aye🤔
Here's my last video but it's outdated still lol. Just haven't had time to update. I have 590s as front wides now. My plan is acoustic curtains on both opens to the right. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VOQNAKO-KCY.html
I bought the 570s and a 520C a month or so ago and I quite like the 520C. Pretty good b match with the 570s. If I could fit a 570 vertical I would do that but I can't. Even the 530 would be a few inches too high and would block the TV screen a bit.
Since I had the 520c, 530s, and a 570 sitting around, I ordered another 570 and will turn them into a separate 5.1 system. I just bought another pair of 530s so I could do 7.1, but I think I’ll use them as bookshelves. Once I move the Jamo 5.1 set into my bedroom i plan to test this 570/530/520 setup and see how close the 520 matches. Should be a lot less of a difference compared to the 590s.
@@andrewskaterrr yeah I mean I like it. I can understand it not being for everyone but I do like it. I love the tweeter overall, the compression driver is very nice.
Don't buy a TV! Get another pair of the 590 and use one of them as the center channel. Then if you have enough space for throw, get a projector, and an acoustically transparent screen where your center channel will sit behind and your L/R flanking your screen. It'll look and feel as if you're at the theater. Having exact matching front stage, LEFT / CENTER / RIGHT is a game changer. Forget DIRAC until you get some acoustic treatments for your room. Stick with a 5.1 and get the best quality equipment you can, buy used if you can. You can upgrade as you go if you want and add to what you already have.
You should check out my newer video. I haven’t wanted a projector since I bought the house, even though I had one at my last house and have 2 in my closets for outdoor events. 4k/120hz HDR Dolby Vision you can’t get with a projector. I also don’t want to deal with projector mounting, noise, shadows, and room reflections. I bought a 77” LG C1 OLED, running 9.4.4 (soon), and have a 590 center. I also bought a JBL SDP-55 and another 7000x. You don’t need acoustic treatment for Dirac to do it’s job, but I will get panels once my speakers are all set in their final place.
You might be able to stop the plastic buzz by sitting the speaker on a block that is sitting on a square of that non slip stuff. I'm waiting on the arrival of some JBL gear some of which the USA doesn't get. It's the JBL 698 (mains), 620s (highs), 625C (centre), Stage A-100P (sub) and a Yamaha A8A receiver. I've got some old Bose 601 ser2 for rears, will replace them if they sound bad.
I have not, but it's horn is even smaller than the 520c's so I imagine will will sound even more different. I did just upgrade the 570 center to a 590 and it now matches the LR perfectly. Whatever speaker you get in this line, make sure the LCR match.
@@andrewskaterrr I just pulled the trigger on the a125c. I was using the 530 on it’s side but was hoping the a125c would be able to keep up with the 590’s a little more…..
@@dbiagas210 Well let me know what you hear, but I honestly think it might be worse. Shouldn't be an issue if you don't like it though, because you can return it. As you know, the 590 is a huge speaker to put on it's side lol.
Sometimes numbers don't represent everything. I bought my JBL set up during the sale and I still believe that it's be hard to make the same set up that sound this good for the price. There are more options with higher budget, but to me, once you hit a certain amount of budget, it'll be just diminishing return. I don't think I'd ever buy another set up for next several years to a decade.
There’s no truth to that, and whoever told you was wrong. It’s just the drivers used and their impedance. 6ohm means less resistance. A lot of super high end speakers are 4ohm.
I bought the 570s and a 520C a month or so ago and I quite like the 520C. Pretty good b match with the 570s. If I could fit a 570 vertical I would do that but I can't. Even the 530 would be a few inches too high and would block the TV screen a bit.
I like the 520C I thank if you by wire it opens the bass up more. I thank the 570s sound better than 580 if you have a good subwoofer like Rythmik FVX12.
