Thousands Came to Our Pop-Up Shop at Corgi Con! || Life After College: Ep. 739 

A little boy thought my corgi was "Gatsby" at the dog park here in Iowa, I had to find out who Gatsby was, and I wasn't disappointed and fell in love with your channel. Only difference is my Oliver has a long tail, but he is tri color like Gatsby 😀

For those of you who couldn't make Corgi Con, I'll say that as nice and friendly as Ryen is in his vlogs, he's even nicer and friendlier IN PERSON! Gatsby truly, truly LUCKED OUT in getting Ryen as his Dad. SERIOUSLY! I mean, Gatsby gets massages, home-cooked meals, acupuncture, air filtering for his allergies, LUCKIEST CORGI EVER! BOTH Ryen and Gatsby deserve each other and give each other SO MUCH HAPPINESS! 🥰😍🥰

So glad to see that CorgiCon was a huge success! Ryen did such a great job planning and running the booth this year compared to in 2019 where it seemed to be a bit more hectic haha. Huge shoutout to all of Ryen’s amazing friends and his family for flying in to help organize and manage the lines and everything because without them, none of this would have been possible! Although Gatsby seemed to be a bit grumpy at the end, it was amazing to see the amount of people who stood in line to buy some merch and to take pictures and show their appreciation and support for both Ryen and Gatsby! The fact that this year’s booth at CorgiCon was so successful, I’m hoping that Ryen does it again next year or sometime in the future because you bet I will be there next time haha! Another shoutout goes to Ryen for keeping us updated on Instagram in regards to how much he’s edited and when the vlog was going to be live! Tomorrow, June 27th 2022 will be Ryen’s 10th year anniversary on RU-vid! I’m hoping the next vlog will be a special one commemorating the journey and all that Ryen has accomplished through the years as well as how much has changed! 10 years ago Ryen said, “Hi internet, this is Ryen and this is my vlog on life after college!” and that was the beginning to this amazing RU-vid channel and everything that was to come afterwards!

As a SF Native, this event, aka Corgi Con is one of the very best things that San Francisco does. Corgi's are the best, & I say this as a Pomeranian parent, who thinks they are the Bee's Knees!

And a big SHOUT-OUT to Ryen's friends for doing a GREAT JOB at the booth! THANK, THANK YOU!

Ahhh the power of friendship!! It goes both ways, you can see in videos featuring your friends how well you get along and you always seem to be such a good host. You, Shawn, and Caspee (😂😂) can even make charades entertaining for us as the viewer and take us into that friendship. Glad to see it was a huge comeback success for you guys.

Love seeing you and Gatsby and all the corgis at CorgiCon!! Makes me miss my corgi Mollie even more. She passed a few months ago at 16 and 1/2. She was so sweet and loving. Easy to see how much Gatsby is loved by you. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life as well!!

One more recommendation - the line for Gatsby's booth is, BY FAR, THE LONGEST LINE! Yes, the line did move relaltively quickly - I was in line for about 20 minutes myself, BUT I'd go there first, then check out other booths.

Since you can see me in this video, does that mean I am famous now? Haha! All joking aside, it was such a pleasure to meet Gatsby. I have been a silent viewer of this channel for some time now, it's only recently that I've began to leave some comments. Having lost my own pup last year, watching Gatsby's video have been a great source of comfort. My dog, Ruby, was the best little miniature Dachshund ever. I think I've also mentioned in my letter to you that I am an ESL teacher as well, and that can be very stressful work. Your video is also a source of comfort in that sense. I also wanted to try to incorporate watching video into the classes I teach, but maybe not for the lower level English learners. However, I think it is definitely helpful to hear English spoken in a natural non-lecture or classroom setting. I could honestly go on a tangent about teaching if you let me... When I was at Corgi Con seeing all the merch in person made me want to buy all of it, but as everyone well knows, teachers really don't make that much money (Still wouldn't trade it for any other job though). I only bought the stuff I really thought I needed, and can use. Obviously I needed the Gatsby plushy to sleep with because it is important to have a cuddle buddy. I do sleep with the Gatsby plushy every night. My other favorite purchase was the 2022 calendar because I love Kohki as a photographer. All the photos are not only gorgeous, but Gatsby is absolutely adorable in every one of these photos. I told so many of my friends that I went to Corgi Con, and I told them about Gatsby too. Gatsby, thank you for providing comfort when I was grieving the loss of my own dog, and thank you providing some important stress relief from the job. You're a true friend, Gatsby. Also, thank you to Shawn for taking a picture with me. Ryen, I still think it is very surreal to see you in person.

Ryen, glad Gatsby enjoyed the salmon nigiri squeaky toy. As I remember, he liked the salmon nigiri you made for him, so seemed to be the perfect toy! When I first saw it, my brain immediately said, "Gatsby!"

Ryen, you know what I LOVE the most about your vlogs - of all things, it's you and Gatsby on your walks! Why? Because as you are walking along, I see Gatsby glancing at you, every few seconds, thinking, "Yep, Dad is still there." "Yep, Daddo is right next to me." "Yep, I see Daddo and I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!" For those considering going to Corgi Con 2023 (fingers crossed there'll be one and Gatsby and Ryen will attend), one word of recommendation. Go early! While Gatsby and Ryen stick around until the end of Corgi Con, parking at Ocean Beach can be CHALLENGING! Going earlier assures parking closer to the event. I was there before 10 AM, but couldn't find parking closer than Stair 23. NOTE: Corgi Con is at Stairs 2-5. So basically walked about 2 miles each way - was NOT an issue, but just sayin' closer parking would have been nice. Ocean Beach is open to everyone, so you're not only competing with fellow Corgi Con-ers for parking. And on a gorgeous Saturday, it is crowded.

Ryen, you totally executed Corgi-Con this go around. How blessed are you to have such loyal friends, fans and a super supportive family...Congrats to you and Gatsby.....

Ryen, you are lucky (as I am) to have such a loving family that they'll fly out to help you with Corgi Con. I'm sure you're having a wonderful time with them, and considering their love for you, I'm certain that one suitcase was filled with stuff you love and miss from Hawaii. Thankfully, we can get quite a few Hawaii things here - but the food I miss the most, and that my parents knew was Numero Uno on my list, is ogo (seaweed). I like it prepared as a "salad." Whenever I see it in the Asian markets here, I will buy a pound - don't care about the price. For me, the enjoyment is PRICELESS! Some Hawaii people do leave the islands and settle elsewhere, but no one can take the "Hawaiian" spirit out of us. It's a first love, and a lasting love.

Watching from NY! Sad we couldn't be there in person but thank you for making this vlog and sharing all this positive energy on your channel :D Absolutely loved seeing all your success!!
