Thousands marched through the streets of Winnipeg to celebrate the city’s annual Pride parade. Following recent anti-2SLGBTQ+ acts in Manitoba, some say the parade is more important than ever. Edward Djan has more.
If pride is always bad by default, then you should NEVER be proud for your self or your/others kids who accomplish or overcome things. You should always show disgust towards parents who say they're proud of their kids or their own accomplishments. Tell them they're portraying one of the greatest sins in doing so. No one is "shoving" it in your face any more than the acknowledgment of being straight and cisgender is a part of humanity in every single book, show, movie, game, etc. We simply exist & no longer will be threatened, mocked or forced to be someone we're not. If that upsets you to see we stand up for the misunderstood & mistreated and how far we've come after all we've been through, then that's something you may need to look into within yourself as to why. I literally just want to live my own life and mind my business. And for a long time I have. But way too many times I've been threatened, mocked, and had false accusations thrown on me for simply being myself. So this sparked me to join in support of these events. I'm tired of being treated wrong & misunderstood. This is why we have these events.
the pride parade lasts not even a full day! no one's shoving you anything as much as how you straight people shove that you're the norm and that everyone should follow your prejudice and bigotry!

I once was lost, scared, confused, and found myself in a hellish place. I prayed and asked for help and guidance. Not long after, I was saved through Jesus. It was difficult at first to accept, but I fully trusted him & had faith that he was right for me to truly accept myself as I am and was made. And this path I was called to was not going to be easy and many may never understand and/or may refuse to, but it was a path I was called to for a greater purpose. For the sake of the kingdom of heaven. This path is protected and between me, Jesus, & God. A while later after accepting this, I was guided to & shown the science & biology that backed up the reasons behind why people experience being trans & non-binary. And it's been proven true time and time again. Men & women have multiple structures in their brain that differ in size range & trans people always fall somewhere between or well within range to their identity in some or majority of those same structures. Their brains function in similar ways to their identity rather than the rest of their outward body might show. Much is misunderstood about us. But like intersex, there's more to the way humans are born than just strict female and male boxes. We exist and we are not made wrong. We are born exactly as we're meant to be. And for a greater purpose in Gods plan.

It's called pride season now but it is now crammed into every aspect of life all year. It is out of control and governments and schools are fully supporting it on taxpayers dime. Don't compare to another month's awareness of something. Unfortunately majority of the people who say veterans & military don't get enough recognition when comparing it to pride month, even when they learn there's a month or 2 for them, they either forget or don't seem to truly care enough to make it more visible. Most seem to just want to have another reason to feel upset at pride month. That's what's truly sad imo. That being said, there's also many military ppl & veterans who are celebrated at pride events too (lgbt or not). At least where I'm at. But yeah, help let others know too if you see people who don't know yet. Make it visible.

It is time to give the platform to other important issues:the poor;drug addiction;homelessness;war survivors and their families;violent abuse victims;incurable agonizing disease;refugee;other people are hurting by war,famine,displacement from natural disasters...etc..Thank you!
Doesn't have to be either or. We can do both and tbh I'd be down for that. Speaking of tho, there was a free food section for those needing it on Saturday & Sunday. Another part of the pride event was for being against violence against women & children. There may have been more I missed too. But this event goes further than just lgbt issues. Having another event to help other areas would be good too. So, keep spreading the word to help make it happen. But, you don't have to & shouldn't bash/diminish another event to do it.

I am interested to know. How many people attending the parade experience actual hate? The interesting thing is, it appears this is geared to suppress hate towards the LGBT community, but in doing so, people are literally expecting hate. And when we expect to see something, often times we misinterpret other peoples views as hate. Like my comment, I'm sure somebody will think this is hateful. But similarly, when anyone considers themselves a victim, then that is all they see and turn everything into that. Similar to black history month, it is not doing much good for black people, this is not doing really much good for the LGBT community.This comment is not meant to diminish any one's valid experience, life is complicated and there is certainly hate in the world. From an outside point of view it seems the point is become on the side of not really building people up, but just hating the "others" as if everyone else hates you. I love you, be who you want.
