Is it me or do B movies just look way worse nowadays than they did back in the 90s and earlier decades? It isn't just the terrible, cheap looking CGI effects, but practical effects also look shittier today and on top of that the movies look like they all are filmed with cheap mobile phone cameras. Back in the day B movies were cheap and cheesy too, but the people making them did at least put some effort into them. At the very least the use of actual film made it so that even the cheapest B movie still looked like it was at least part of the same art form as proper movies. You can't really say that about modern B movies anymore. They just became their totally separate thing somehow and it is a thing I don't need and don't want.
Opie Cunnimham agreed to star in a Roger Corman movie for free if he could direct it. He complained that Roger wouldn't pay for enough extras for the movie. Roger replied that if Ron Howard did a good job he would never have to work for him again. The movie was Grand Theft Auto. Very under rated.
