On Sunday, thousands of cyclists rode from CU's campus to Diagonal Highway - doubling back after passing a ghost bike marking the spot where Magnus White was killed last summer.
I am so glad to hear that the Govenor Polis and CDOT are moving forward with better transportation designs. This needs to be a priority throughout the world.
As a native of CO, I'm glad to see better thinking in safety for bike riders. When I think back to the 80s and really take a notice to riders vs now and then think about the amount of riders and vehicles, and add amount of distractions such as gadgets in a car, lack of driving skills vs back then... I honestly wouldn't ride a bike now. In the 80s, they still taught Drivers Ed as a required class in high school. How many people in a day are talking on a phone, whether holding it or blue tooth... they aren't paying attention! Pushing the dozens of buttons on the dash OR texting? Changing lanes without looking? If you are a PASSENGER, COUNT THEM!!! This was a horrible thing when I saw this had happened. I worry about my children, and you hope and pray both they and others are careful.
