Interesting exploration of the place for and weight of father views during pregnancy. It is tough to feel at odds with the mother about how you want to raise a child, especially if you feel like the mother isn't putting in the same level of care as you want to (whether that's true or not). However, I really do think that while the father should be given time to weigh in and share his research and feelings, ultimately for decisions like an epidural, that has to be up to the mother, and her views need to be respected. So making bets with the "guys" is really uncool. I also think neither the father nor the mother need to be making unnecessary surgical decisions on behalf of their child's genitals. Of course, I know that culturally this is still done in the United States, but I had a hard time seeing the man's perspective in this clip -- you don't cut off extremely sensitive parts of a persons body for tradition or to prevent the potential of teasing later in life. So, I side with the mother on this one. Interesting show, though. I'll keep watching.
