I just want to recommend the funk bass course to everyone, but it's an intermediate course, some grooves are fairly difficult, but just practice them slowly. I'm working trough it for months now and I've grown a lot from it. So many fills come out now, new ideas from combining the various grooves and technical prowess. I will probably get the soul one next.

Hi Dan, took this lesson, which is bang on the money, and applied the funk rhythms to some ideas I have from your Soul, RnB and Motown book. I’m playing my way through your book, and realised I could maybe apply and work some of your funk concepts into the music of one of favourite artists, namely Edwin Starr. In one of Edwin Starr’s tracks “easin’ in” the Bass line is really ‘driving’ and soooo funky. I took your advice on reading the rhythm and feeling the groove, it works!! By reading the rhythm and listening to the bass line I can quickly work out what the bassIst is playing. I think after I’ve worked the Soul, RnB and Motown book to death, my next purchase is your ‘Funk’ book. I think they’ll keep busy for years 😁 in the short time I’ve been on your channel my bass playing has reached new heights. This is a very happy grizzled old bass player. Thank you,

This is another great lesson, I’ve been practicing the pentatonic lessons for several weeks now. I’ve been trying to incorporate those lessons into other bass tabs that I have to try and practice in a running line. I really appreciate your courses because they really help. I’m still trying to lean the boy are back in town by Thin Lizzy, that’s just an odd song to play that feels very uncomfortable. Hopefully I’ll piece it out eventually, either way I’ll keep practicing and eventually I’ll tie it all together. Thank you for your lessons. Till next time…
