Actually, their New relationship with Russia is better for them. France have been with them for more than a century, what have France done for them? Nothing. Their relationship with Russia is just business. Russia is present in Africa to counter the Western hegemony and neo colonialism. The game is going well and Africa has lost hope in the West.
