A Short Video using the old Thoracic Surgeon Three Bottle System to describe how the Pleur-Evac works. It's intended to be used as a teaching tool for residents, nurses and fellows.

Intermittent bubbling indicates that the system is functioning properly. Continuous bubbling indicates air leak . If bubbling disappears indicates tube obstruction, dependent loop, or as lung fully re-expands

Explain how the third bottle works... How does it change level of suction with varying the length under water of atmospheric vent

I am currently commected to this drainage system. Unfortunately my doctor doesn't know how this thing works. My water seal chamber has insufficient water thus it doesn't fluctuates. Only the suction chamber is bubbling. Collection chamber is static. Sigh
