So blissful a teaching. And to end with love filling the entire sangha. May I remember these refuges. I have a necklace I could wear, which is my Truth necklace. That's one. I could do a daily inventory of all who I know, and try to understand their Truths. That's two. I could continue my morning (could be morning, midday and eve) spiritual practice with more focus. Much more focus. When the body and the heart are broken, it is a great challenge to focus, but this is the most important time for me to have to PERSEVERE, contrived or not. So, I'll put on my necklace to remind me of TRUTH (the truth of the way things are); I'll call my estranged sister . . . possibly . . ... soon; and when I do my practice, I will ban multi-tasking and interruptions by my cat. Wish I lived closer, Tara. Chronic illness is what I am to embrace right now. Keeps me bedded down in Cincinnati.

Thank you for this. So appreciated. I would so like to know what the words are to the chant at the end. Please could they be included in a note under the video? It would be so nice in future talks if a translation before the words are spoken is given. Namaste

Sounds like a combination of a few chants. The first segment can be found here: www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/history/devotion/devotion04.htm. Will be looking for the rest :) Hope this is helpful, Namaste.

I'm just part of the audience. From what I know, the words she is chanting are Sanskrit holy syllables. Tara could give an entire long teaching on the meaning of the chant (I believe she repeated them 3x, which is common). But I am all for having the Sanskrit phonetically subtitled for us, Rosie S, so we can pray along.

Also, it could be she is speaking Tibetan which has the same reverence for the distillation of teachings into a single word. But she said "Namaste" which I believe is Sanskrit.

It's Pali. Many of the early Buddhist texts were written in Pali. Vandanâ Namô Tassa Bhagavatô Arahatô Sammâ-Sambuddhassa (3x) Homage to the Triple Gems Homage to Him, the Blessed One, the Exalted One, the Fully Enlightened One. Ti-Sarana Buddham Saranam Gacchâmi. Dhammam Saranam Gacchâmi. Sangham Saranam Gacchâmi. Dutiyampi Buddham Saranam Gacchâmi. Dutiyampi Dhammam Saranam Gacchâmi. Dutiyampi Sangham Saranam Gacchâmi. Tatiyampi Buddham Saranarn Gacchâmi. Tatiyampi Dhammam Saranam Gacchâmi. Tatiyampi Sangham Saranam Gacchâmi. Translation: The Three Refuges I go to the Buddha as my refuge. I go to the Dhamma - The Teachings, as my Refuge. I go to the Sangha - The Community, as my Refuge. For the second time I go to the Buddha as my Refuge. For the second time I go to the Dhamma - The Teachings, as my Refuge. For the second time I go to the Sangha - The Community, as my Refuge. For the third time I go to the Buddha as my Refuge. For the third time I go to the Dhamma - The Teachings, as my Refuge. I love Tara’s talks but I do not understand why there is always someone coughing over and over again. I wish they would excuse themselves from the talks until they were well again. Once I noticed it I just can’t stop noticing it.
