I’ve often heard, and seen, that the best barrel racers ever don’t kick a lot, bounce in the saddle around the barrel, use the “over and under” whip on the way out and never use a tie-down. It seems to be true. I think all these things are learned by small town girls that think they look cool doing it, but it seems to actually slow a horse down. Makes sense to me, I’d tense up and not move as fast too if you were doing all that to me 👍🏼
I just want to thank you all for sharing the video I think that yall from grandma to granddaughter are very fortunate and tough women and i tip my hat to yall!! keep it up!!

Richard Suovanen you're never going to get anywhere if you look at life like that. This is where you get after years and years of hard work and persistence.

I'm 69 yrs. old or young depending which way you look at it. lol Love watching rodeo events and HAD to watch a fellow Texan as they are down the road from me up in Levelland. Love the hard work all of you have gone through to reach this point in all of your lives. Congrats on all the BR wins and beating the big C. and the elder for being so stinkin good at making the video commentary. Y'all have done yourselves and TX. very proud!!
Red Bull, check into Justin Rowell. PRCA Bull rider, 18yr old from California and he’s killing it his rookie year. Our company Rocking RL Quarter Horses sponsors him. Most kind, respectful, hard working young man we’ve had the pleasure to know.
Must be the water and dirt there in Abilene some of the prettiest girls I've ever seen so glad I was born there myself st. Anne Hospital the old one LOL
Gosh dang, that girl knows how to ride and ride hard! Very very impressed and to make matters worse, she's one damn fine young looking lady! Momma sure did raise one badass chick!
They're horsewomen, not cowgirls. Cowgirls, like cowboys, are chiefly concerned with the raising, herding and sale of cattle. This family appears to be solely focused on horsemanship.
well done ladies.... What I dont get is.... Is it now against rules to reach out and put that barrel back upright? In my day you could and if you keep that other hand available and off the horn you will have that chance. I rode some super fast barrel horses and set more than a few barrels back up way back in the day. Again well done
My trainer says to grab the horn with your free hand so that you don't mess up how the horse runs by using your hand too much. Plus it would be close to impossible to use your outside hand and reach across your body to hold the barrel up then to reach down with your inside hand to keep it up. If you used your outside hand I would think it would mess up your balance and body position
Take away the bit if you really think they are like family you would not want to put pain in there mouth or spurs on there sides no reason for pain kicking hurts bad enough no need to add to it
