This video was made in the early days of 2020 in hopes to get Three Lakes a spot on the HGTV show Hometown Takeover. While a different town was chosen for the show, this video showcases the strengths and needs of our town.
I loved growing up in Three Lakes during my early childhood. In my later years, my husband and enjoyed eating breakfast at the 3 Lakes diner and stayed at the Oneida feasting on many buffets and their jumbo shrimp dinners. I also miss the old Northernaire that was right across Deer Lake from our resort. I swam there as a kid during the winter.
God I miss the old 3 Lakes...before the big Chicago money arrived. Started going there in 1982. There were the ladies behind the bar at the Legion....Dorothy, Audry, Dolores and Sarah. All gone now. The regulars....Carl, Butchy, Dale, and Bub, and of course crazy Coffey. Again all passed on now. It was a place I'll never, ever forget.
You forgot the Northernaire and the Show Boat that also got ruined a "Historical Site". And if i rember right the Holiday Haven also had a fire.... What's up with this town?
