💯 the level of detail is phenomenal and the length of the video and quality of the content really helps to immerse the viewer completely on what’s been covered - in this case, triangles. Thanks so much professor ! 🙏🏻

@5:15 clutch detail. I have boogered so many triangles from this diamond lock/triangle city position because I tried to force the lock. Look forward to making this adjustment on the mats.

Ive found that as a newer white belt (6 months) it is SOO difficult just getting people into these posisitions haha. Other white belts I can sorta get here and there. Blue and above....forget about. Great video!
@BJJCurriculum
@BJJCurriculum 7 лет назад
Dereck - that's normal. That's one of the reasons they are blue and above. I'll let you in on a secret; when I'm working a new move I generally work it on the lower belts before I bust it out on my higher belts. Easier to work out the kinks that way. You should look to work the newer techniques on the more junior people first; get it to work on the white belts, then the blue and so on. As a new white belt if you are getting anything other than tapped you are doing a great job ;-) I hope you find all our videos on BJJcurriculum.com helpful and subscribe/like/follow/and share for weekly video lessons! All the best, Coach Doug

angel666 meh. I know the original triangle choke. I dont think the coach here is a "secondhand black belt". Just because he isnt a 1st gen Gracie, doesnt mean his techique isnt good. I like his videos and they have helped me a lot.
@CrowT
@CrowT 7 лет назад
angel666 Do you mean when he puts his foot in the hip to cut the angle to the side while holding his shin?
@BJJCurriculum
@BJJCurriculum 7 лет назад
Macarrao has very long legs and can usually lock up the triangle in front of his opponent. He addresses the angle change in 6:08 of this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ePe4WMnp_Ls.html but also shows a great detail at 6:46 blocking your own knee. I will do a similar thing and show my guys to block the knee or the opponents hip with your hand. When that fails you transition to the armbar just like Macarrao shows at 7:28.

Hi, what a great instructional! Watched the first part and am really looking forward to this evening's training. One small question (I'm not sure if I got it right). I have really long legs and when I set up the triangle, people who are not really big tend to have lots of space and I have hard time tightening the triangle. Which way is the best to make my triangle tight fast (or from the start)? Thanks for the vid. Will watch the remaining 50mins once I've mastered a few of the basics
